I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Sept. 16 – 17
Enjoy these September days, it will be blustery and cold before we know it. Celebrate our neighbor to the east during their annual Dayton Valley Days street festival. Tour their museums, pan for gold, and enjoy samples at their Chili cook-off. Downtown Carson is a hotbed of fun tonight with two pub crawls and the Ghost Walk Haunted History Tour. How fast does your excitement need to be? The National Air Races take to the sky in northern Reno for high-flying action. You’ll see fast cars make tight turns during this weekend’s Virginia City Hill Climb.
- -- Muscle Powered Weekend Day Hike: Fay-Luther Trail in Gardnerville - Meet in the Target parking lot at the north end along Jacks Valley Road, to carpool or caravan to the Fay-Luther trailhead which is on Foothill Road, south of Genoa (8:30am; Dirt trail with some elevation rise, about 4 miles roundtrip; Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the hike meeting site. All hikes require closed-toed shoes, water and lunch. Hats, sunscreen, walking sticks, and snacks are recommended)
