Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The annual Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights holiday celebration goes virtual on Friday. Santa Claus will arrive virtually at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and in-person at Battle Born Harley Davidson on Saturday for pictures with families and kids of all ages. Northern Nevada professional Peter Williamson re-elected to NCET board

Peter Williamson has been re-elected to the board of directors of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.

He has served eight years on the NCET board and is the longest-serving volunteer director of the organization.

Williamson, re-elected as vice president of Tech Wednesdays, has worked for 15 years as an ActionCOACH business coach in Reno. He is also a Certified Exit Planner (CExP) with the Business Exit Institute, helping business owners plan their exit from their businesses.

Carson Rifle and Pistol Club Hosts Rifle Match, Saturday, Sept. 7

The Carson Rifle and Pistol Club will hold two rifle matches on Saturday, September 7th, 8AM to 1PM. The matches will consist of a "Mini Palma" (a 100 yard match suitable for most .22 rifles) and a Vintage Military Rifle Match. The Children's Museum in Carson City will host a Summer Science Camp this year. Participants will get hands on lessons in science, art, music and literary projects tied to the Carson River watershed, as well as learning about regional geology and mining, geothermal and solar energy, biomes of Northern Nevada and hot air balloons.

Tazmanian Boxing debuts Carson City youth at recent USA Boxing event

Tazmanian Boxing Club in Carson City debuted two youth boxers at a USA Boxing event in Reno recently. Alfredo Carrasco Jr., and Jose Bedoy, got a chance to debut their boxing skills. Both displayed a lot of heart, skill and integrity, according to their trainers.
