A Celebration of Life ceremony will get underway at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, for Carson City Mayor and native Nevadan Robert “Bob” Crowell.

CARSON CITY — By executive order, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and state public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 as a mark of solemn respect and in remembrance of Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Ben Jenkins, whose funeral is being held today in Elko.

Carson Ridge Disc Golf Park closed Mondays for maintenance

Beginning May 18, 2020, Carson Ridge Disc Golf Park will be closed on Mondays for a course maintenance day. During the closure, volunteers will be working on general maintenance to the tee pads, trails, baskets and course clean up.

Carson City lifts closures on select outdoor recreation activities

In response to Governor Sisolak’s Directive 016, relaxing restrictions on some outdoor recreation activities is allowed starting today, if participants recreate safely and in a manner that prevents the spread of COVID-19.

Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department will be reopening the following facilities with restrictions to ensure the health and safety of staff and participants. If you do not feel well, please stay home.
