Easter Weekend Family Fun

Easter bonnets, baskets, eggs, and bunnies are about to descend, and here is a sneak peek at where to find the fun. Most all of the egg hunts are free, but I've made sure to include an entry price if one exists.

SATURDAY, March 26:

Celebrate Easter at the Nevada State Railroad Museum (10am-4pm; Storytime at 11am; special crafts and egg hunt; $6 adults, children free)

A local artist meet and greet will be held Friday, March 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Eagle Mountain Trading Post in Carson City. The event will feature Robin Travis Photograpy.

Robin is passionate about finding images that inspire others. Her vision is to share the delight of the world; a sunrise on Lake Tahoe, a bee on a flower, or a beloved person. There is a depth to her portfolio that includes the minutiae and grandness of life.

Shadow and Light photographers featured at Nevada Day Store during Downtown Wine Walk

The Nevada Day Store and Trading Post features many fine art Photographers and this Saturday we are showcasing some of “The Shadow and Light Photographers” beautiful work.

This group was started by Fine Art Photographer, Dennis Doyle on Facebook. It is giving photographers of every level a place where all can share their work and learn from one another. They post and share and when asked, constructive criticism is also given and appreciated.

Three found by Carson City search team after spending night stuck near Brunswick Canyon

Three men in two vehicles were rescued early Monday morning by Carson City Search and Rescue after being stuck overnight south of Brunswick Canyon near Sunrise Pass.

The men were found safe and healthy despite having minimal provisions, said SAR public information officer Bill “Fergi” Fergus. They managed to stay warm by having the engines run in their vehicles.

Late spring rain proves good news for Nevada chukar hunters

April showers may bring May flowers, but May showers apparently saved this year’s chukar hunting season. This year’s Nevada Chukar Hunting Forecast, an annual report put out by the Nevada Department of Wildlife that uses data from aerial surveys that take place across 13 different survey plots, was recently released.
