Our season starts on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with a short meeting and continental breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and will have our shotgun at 9:30 a.m. Subsequent rounds are every Tuesday. Fifteen members, age 70 and over, participated in the 3rd annual Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club (GLLGC) Senior Cup Tournament at the Lakes course in September.

Twenty members in four flights competed for the 2023 Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club (GLLGC) championship crown during two rounds played at the Ranch and Lakes courses in August.

Thursday, August 24, Silver Oak Senior Men’s Club held the second round of the annual two round Club Championship to determine the best golfer in the club over a field of 45 golfer.

The competition recognizes both a gross score and net score (with handicap factored in)winner and is played on two consecutive Thursdays.

It was a beautiful day on June 2, 2023 for the Dayton Chamber's 30th Annual "Making A Difference" Golf Tournament. 60 golfers enjoyed a well groomed golf course, great food and libations, and lots of raffle and auction prizes.

Capital City Women's Club at Empire Ranch has two new Championship winners! Congratulations to Vicki Barbaria who won Low Gross Over the Field and Loretta Szymanski who won Low Net Over the Field. Vicki shot a 173 (Gross) and Loretta shot a 135 (Net) over the two day tournament. Great job ladies and to all the ladies who participated!! Undoubtedly a year like no other, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada’s Mike Tice Charity Weekend was one many events cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

It has been a plan in the works for months and Monday the National Hockey League made it official — they are bringing NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe to Edgewood Tahoe Feb. 20-21, 2021.

There is a prescribed fire happening this Monday afternoon at Empire Ranch Golf Course. Carson City dispatch notes it has been receiving numerous calls from citizens reporting a fire. The fire is a controlled burn done by the property and was, earlier, putting up a heavy amount of smoke.

The Dayton Valley Golf Course has been acquired by Tour Specs Golf Management from Duncan Golf Management in a deal that was finalized this week. Tour Specs Golf Management principal owner, James (Jim) Kepler will also serve as course general manager. Kepler is a well-known PGA professional in Nevada and west coast golf communities.

Carson High School's NJROTC Drill and Color Guard team competed in their first ever ‘virtual’ drill competition hosted by University of North Carolina ROTC program. The various teams’ performances were captured on video and sent to the University for judging.
