Tuesday afternoon brought news of a familiar face in the Carson City basketball community making the jump to Division I athletics.
Former Senators head coach Jordan Glover was hired as the Video Coordinator for the UNLV Lady Rebels women’s basketball program. Glover joins a team that has emerged as one of the Mountain West Conference’s premier programs under seventh-year head coach Lindy La Rocque.
The Lady Rebels are seeking their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in five seasons after capturing three consecutive Mountain West Tournament championships from 2022-24. La Rocque has been recognized as the Mountain West Coach of the Year three times, earning the honor in 2021, 2023 and 2025.
“I’ve known Jordan for a while, and he brings a variety of basketball experiences with him that will help elevate our program,” La Rocque said.
Glover spent six years in Carson City, coaching five at Carson High School from 2016-22. He compiled a 42-70 record during his tenure, which included the cancellation of the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to leading the Senators program, Glover was heavily involved in local youth basketball through Capital City Hoops.
Most recently, Glover coached at Paris Junior College in Texas before accepting the opportunity to join the UNLV staff.
The move marks a significant step in Glover’s coaching career, but Division I basketball is nothing new to the family. His father, Jason Glover, has spent more than three decades coaching at the NCAA Division I level. Jason previously served on the Nevada men’s basketball staff from 1993-2000 and currently works as Associate Head Coach at Arizona State under head coach Molly Miller.
As UNLV looks to continue its recent run of success, Jordan Glover will bring his coaching experience and basketball knowledge to a program that has enjoyed its most successful stretch in more than three decades.
