Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region. The November Gobble Wine Walk kicks off in downtown Carson City followed by a new “Paths and Pedals” bike tour. Reverend Dr. Gary Robert Buchanan, local composer, conductor, Sonatherapist, minister at the International Community of Christ, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on October 16, 2020, after a year-long fight against cancer. He is survived by his wife Amanda Buchanan, sons Bradley Buchanan of Ventura, California, and Kym Buchanan of Wisconsin, daughter Amy Buchanan-Rodriquez of Reno, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

UPDATE 10:17PM: A 72-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured and flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno Monday night following a vehicle crash near a crosswalk at the intersection of Hot Springs Road and Pine Lane. Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Nate Brehm said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating and told officers she didn't see the man.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, said Brehm. The victim was conscious and suffered injuries to his leg and hip. NHP is also involved in the accident investigation.

A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday for suspicion of felony home invasion after being shot in the foot by a homeowner who had attempted to scare the suspect away, according to a sheriff's office booking report.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Thursday evening to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the 300 block of Hot Springs Road.

Recently there have been national complaints and reports of juveniles purchasing alcohol, using masks to conceal their identity. On August 25, 2020 the Carson City Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers, in conjunction with Partnership Carson City, conducted an alcohol compliance check.

UPDATE 144PM: Hot Springs Road has reopened to traffic in both directions following an all-clear by Southwest Gas. The cause of the crash into the building, which severed a gas line, is under investigation.

A man accused of kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a minor appeared in court in Carson City Friday for his preliminary hearing.

Carson City Senior Judge John Tatro presided over the hearing of Kahlil Deshaun Williams, who is being accused of kidnapping, attempted sexual assault of a minor under 14, lewdness with a minor under 14, and false imprisonment.

A 39-year-old Wellington man was arrested Wednesday for two counts suspicion of violation of an extended protection order placed on him for stalking and harassment, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

According to the report, Kahlil Deshawn Williams was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a convenience store on Hot Springs Road for a kidnapping.
