Rockabilly Riot, cancer awareness fitness events, Dayton Valley Days and more: Carson City region set for jam-packed weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Rockabilly Riot car show, Dayton Valley Days, a pancreatic cancer awareness walk at Silver Oak Golf Course, the annual Pooch Plunge at the Carson Aquatic Facility, horse endurance races in Virginia City, history talks at Mormon Station Park and much more!

The 31st annual Dayton Valley Days kicks off this weekend with a street festival, food booths, plenty of games for kids, a host of family entertainment options including gold panning, ghost tours, a vehicle show and shine, chili cook-off, Sunday pet parade and more.

UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, the Pirate Pup Parade will be moved indoors outside of the Black Box Theater at the Brewery Arts Center. The film showing of "Hook" will be held in the BAC Performance Hall. Food Trucks will be outside in the parking lot.

Going into Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, we're looking at a slight chance of showers with highs in the upper 60s around the Carson City region. Looking ahead there's art workshops and showings, as well as the Scallywaggers Pirate Pup Parade, Wheeled Food Wednesday and outdoor showing of the film classic "Hook" at the Brewery Arts Center, acrylic pour jewelry making at Rustically Divine, Salsa dancing and more.

Ahoy Matey: Pirate-themed movie night, pet parade comes to Carson City Sept. 18

The next Carson City outdoor summer movie night is Sept. 18 including food trucks, a pet costume contest and the classic childhood pirate movie, “Hook.”

Head to the Brewery Art Center’s Minnesota Street Stage, where Wheeled Food Wednesday food trucks will be serving 5-8 p.m. and the pirate-themed pet costume contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. — followed by the free film showing at sunset.

Good morning Carson City, and happy June! We have a ton of events going on today in our beloved capital city, with the June wine walk, the first day of the farmer’s market, a brew fest at Fuji park, and more! With a high of 75, it’s shaping up to finally start to feel like summer (knock on wood).

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. Ladies Fleet Reserve hosts pet parade, makes $500 donation to Richards Crossing residents

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association Sierra Tahoe Unit No. 137 hosted a pet parade Thursday, for the residents of Richards Crossing in Carson City that included a pet parade, dinner and a $500 donation from the organization.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Sierra Tahoe Unit No. 137 will be hosting a resident pet parade for the community to enjoy at 4 p.m., Thursday followed by a soup and salad dinner at the Richards Crossing multi-purpose room, Thursday, Feb. 22.

Sundays can be a lazy day if you prefer, but there’s plenty to do if you’d rather seize the day. There's a Health Energy Fair today from 11 to 4 in Carson City. The pet parade at Dayton Valley Days is free for all participants, so dress up Fido in his best costume and strut your stuff. Head over to the Shoe Tree Brewing Company for an afternoon of good feels. A fundraiser to benefit the family of Iliana Avila, a local girl with an inoperable brain tumor, features great beer, a silent auction, live music, and more. Downtown you’ll find the wine walk, a rummage sale at the Veterans Memorial Hall, and the Fall Vintage Market at Due Sorella. Toast the season at Fandango: Oktoberfest has returned. Historic Dayton is the place to be. The Annual Dayton Valley Days and Railroad Days features a chili cook-off, pet parade, pinewood derby race, and much more. Join CASI at Riverview Park for the annual 5K9 walk/run and don’t forget to bring your pooch. The Edible Pedal is one of the most delicious bike rides around with 100, 50, or 10 mile courses. Dayton Valley Days 2016 this weekend features festival of parades, music, food and more

Celebrating all things community and the first responders who keep its residents safe, this weekend marks the 28th Dayton Valley Days celebration.

The annual two-day festival is the largest event of the year and draws thousands of visitors and community members to the historic district. Dayton Valley Days helps raise funds for continued restoration of the historic schoolhouse–turned community center and local nonprofit organizations.

Region's first responders to be honored during Dayton Valley Days

First responders who serve the greater Dayton area are being honored during the annual Dayton Valley Days 2016 street festival.

Early this year the Dayton Valley Days Committee unanimously voted to dedicate the festival scheduled September 17-18, 2016 in Old Town Dayton to the region's first responders as a way to thank each of them and let them know that in these turbulent times the communities they serve is behind them.
