Local Photographer Mark Gillard’s art is featured in a one man show at DST Coffee here in Gardnerville starting on Monday, January 15th.

His work ranges from landscapes to flora and fauna; historic buildings to his favorite – cows. Mark has enjoyed photography since he was a kid. It remains a passion to this day. His photos are of areas from Mad Canyon’s majestic peaks to Gardnerville’s Meadows, historic locales from Genoa to Virginia City, barns to classic cars.

WNC president to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be J. Kyle Dalpe, Ph.D., president of Western Nevada College. Dr. Dalpe has worked in higher education for more than 27 years supporting student access and success. In March 2023, he was appointed President of Western Nevada College (WNC), a rural community college with campuses in Carson City, Fallon and Minden, after serving more than a year in an interim capacity. He previously served as Provost and Senior Vice President at WNC, overseeing academic affairs, finance and student services.

Carson Tahoe Health CEO to speak at Democratic luncheon

Their reach encompassing Carson City, Lake Tahoe, Minden, Carson Valley, South Reno, Dayton, Yerington, and beyond.

Despite the changes in learning platforms brought on by the coronavirus, Western Nevada College is proud to announce that more than a third of its full-time students were still able to make the fall semester dean’s list.

On January 6, 2021 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office ended a three-week investigation into the death of Jason Kaspian. Kaspian was found dead in his Vista Grande Drive apartment on Dec. 19, 2020 of a suspected overdose.
