A 41-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Deputies responded 4:21 p.m. to a casino in the 900 block of South Carson Street for a report of a battery. A deputy met with casino staff who advised there was a female leaving through the north door when a male subject grabbed her by the hair, the report states.
A deputy spoke with the victim who stated she was arguing with her ex-boyfriend who she said she still lives with and has a relationship with. As they were leaving the casino, she said the man was walking out of the north door in front of her when he turned around, grabbed her by the hair and then let go of her. She said the man left the area on foot and she stayed at the casino, the report states.
A deputy then spoke with the casino manager who stated he saw a male and female walking through the north door when the male turned around and grabbed the woman by the hair and then left the area. The manager was able to show the deputy a video of the incident, confirming what the victim told the officer. The deputy showed the victim a photo of the male subject in the video. She identified him as her ex-boyfriend, the report states.
The deputy contacted the man via telephone and agreed to meet the deputy at the man’s apartment. Other deputies arrived beforehand and the man was detained. A deputy read the man his Miranda rights. The man said he understood his rights and agreed to speak. The officer asked him what happened. He said he was arguing with the woman but could not tell the deputy what they were arguing about. The officer asked him what happened when they were in the doorway of the casino. He said they both left, the report states.
The deputy told the man that he had already seen the video. The man told the deputy he grabbed the woman by the hair. The deputy advised he was under arrest for domestic battery due to him grabbing the woman by the hair. Bail: $3,137.
