Carson City Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (CCSSAR) set up their annual first aid station for the ‘America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride’ at Lake Tahoe on Sunday, June 7. During the event, a cyclist was escorted to the first aid station suffering from an acute medical emergency.
With evaluation and management, the cyclist was not improving and EMS was summoned. Tahoe-Douglas Fire services along with Nevada State Police responded to the aid station.
During the incident, another cyclist with a different medical emergency arrived at the aid station. Both cyclists were managed and subsequently stabilized. Neither rider required transport to the hospital.

CCSSAR members have diverse fields of medical expertise including EMTs, advanced practitioner and physicians. CCSAR also participated in Carson’s Farmers Market and the Sheriff’s Cops & Kids event over the weekend.
CCSSAR is a volunteer division of Carson City’s Sheriff’s Office and a non-profit 501 (c) (3). Go here if interested in joining or donating.
