Those who purchased tickets with a credit card will be automatically reimbursed. If you purchased tickets by other means, contact Brewery Arts Center for refund information.

Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher blend music and storytelling to take audiences on journey to their homelands. The self described Extreme Traditional Celtic Musicians have preserved the emotion and tradition of their homeland songs while at the same time telling new stories.

Resident artists and teachers will demonstrate their crafts as part of the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Sip wine and nibble hors d’oeuvres while watching the artisans create new works of art. Plus, accomplished Dulcimer musicians will provide music throughout the afternoon. You don’t need to take part in the Wine Walk to join in.

December 11, 2011 (All day) The Brewery Arts Center is pleased to announce that the Proscenium Players, Inc. theater company will perform during the 2011/2012 season at the BAC. They will kick off their season with the production of “A Tuna Christmas”.
The PPI was founded in 1965 and since then has continuously entertained Carson City residents with a variety of shows. Over the years, the shows have been varied: drama, musicals, comedy, classical, improvisational, old favorites and avant-garde. Now, after a two year hiatus, the performance troupe is returning to the BAC.

Joe McCarthy to leave Office of Business Development this summer

McCarthy has been on leave for the past two weeks, following a disagreement over the presentation of a redevelopment project at Southgate Center to the Board of Supervisors.
Werner said that while they like each other personally, there is a difference in styles between the two that caused problems.

Artisan Cafe Moving into City Cafe

The City Cafe has only been closed for a few weeks, but already there’s a replacement business moving in. The Artisan Bakeworks Cafe is an offshoot of the Artisan Cafe in the Brewery Arts Center, and it should be able to slide right into the space with a minimum of renovations. They’re looking at opening around Thanksgiving.

New battlefield for Fridays@3rd Street war: Court
Submitted by Kirk Caraway on Sat, 09/11/2010 - 9:40amThe dispute between the Mom & Pop's Diner owner Doug Cramer and Brewery Arts Center director John Procaccini is heading for small claims court.
I wrote about this dispute back in June, adding to the story from the Appeal on the subject.
In short, Cramer signed a contract that included a diagram that showed where the bars operated by Mom & Pop's and Firkin & Fox were to be located. But those locations were changed in a way that Cramer claims was detrimental to his business, cutting off access to the bulk of the crowd. Procaccini admits that changes were made to the bar locations, but doesn't agree that the changes constitutes a breach of contract.

Here's what you'll find this weekend:
— Genoa hosts The Old Time Music Festival in the Town Park Saturday. This is labeled as a celebration of American Roots Music and includes the Quake City Jug Band and banjo star Georgette Hall with her daughter Cecilia Yale. Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11. Tickets are $5.

Though most would agree that the events are a great benefit for our downtown, the process by which this project came about is a strange one, tainted with managerial missteps, missing budgets and political indifference.

Pianist delivers benefit performance at Brewery Arts Center

The event was put on as a fundraiser for Carson City Symphony’s String for the School Program. More than fifty people attended, ranging from children to seniors.
The Recital featured songs written and originally played by J.S. Bach, D. Scarlatti, Paradisi, Haydn, Schumann, Beethoven and Ravel.
Williams was accompanied by his wife Genevieve Williams, who also assisted him while he was performing.
Supervisors delay discussion on Nugget project agreement

The item calls for the city to contribute $75,000 to help fund the development planning for the Nugget redevelopment project. The Hop and Mae Adams Foundation will contribute $75,000, and the Carson City Library will pitch in $16,000.
City moves forward with Business Resource Center idea

The meeting is tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Sierra Room at the Community Center. We will have live video coverage of the meeting.
James and Jea Gotchy, owners of Lily’s China Bistro at 1280 S. Carson Street, are asking for funding assistance of $40,180.
Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation is seeking funding assistance of $37,364 to support a property improvement project at 303 Fleischmann Way.
