Putting Up The Flag
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 05/27/2013 - 12:52pmI fly the flag every day. The kids even bought a solar powered spot light so we can leave it out at night. But now…?
Now I look at the stars through teary eyes as each star is morphing into a swastika or a hammer-and-sickle — or is it a crescent moon?

Carson High School Uniform Debate
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 03/22/2013 - 1:09pmWhy am I opposed to school uniforms at Carson High School? It’s a lengthy answer and so I’ll try to condense it. We have access, in Reno, to those listed plus several more, but only a fraction of the stores that you would have in a big city. My daughter has been in the current SSA “uniforms” at the middle school for the last 2 years. Additionally I have a buying background in the fashion industry for 8 years, so I have that perspective to my argument as well.
