Carson City Sheriff's Office requests public's help in locating runaway juvenile

On December 14, 2020 Xavier Pierce ran away from his home in Carson City. Xavier is believed to be in the Carson City area and may be riding a red bicycle.

On Thursday morning, December 17, 2020 Xavier’s mother discovered his wet clothing in their garage and it appeared he changed his clothing. Xavier does not have any medical problems and is not considered at risk.

Xavier has returned to his mother’s home on at least two different occasions, the most recent being on January 4, 2021.

Xavier’s mother believes he is coming to the home when she is gone to change clothes.

Carson City deputies arrest woman for alleged battery with a deadly weapon after fight with sister

A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon and suspected drug offenses, a sheriff's deputy report states.

Lyon County Manager: NV Energy retracts rolling blackout information, no blackouts for Silver Springs, Yerington and Smith Valley

Small fire that started in clothes drier extinguished, according to Carson City battalion chief

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday afternoon to a laundry room fire in the 1100 block of Genoa Lane in north Carson City.

The fire was called in at around 12:30 p.m. as a structure fire inside a residence. A battalion chief on scene reports the small fire was from a clothing drier that was extinguished by the time they arrived.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested May 22 for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and other alleged offenses, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

My gardening clothes stink and I’m a happy woman! I’ve been pruning a Rhus trilobata, commonly called skunkbush sumac. Its name tells the story. I should have left my malodorous garments outside rather than carrying that pungent scent into the house. Oh well, I don’t care. I’m happy because I’m pruning. It takes so little to put a smile on my face.

Carson City deputies arrest mentally ill man for domestic battery, obstruction

A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Airport Road and Woodside for domestic battery first and obstructing a public officer.

According to the report, the man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a domestic battery in progress. Dispatch advised that the suspect was hitting the reporting party.

For Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, bighorn sheep reintroduction part of decades-long effort to recover wildlife

Tribal members, conservationists and students, bundled up in thick coats and beanies, gathered in two rows fanning out from transport trailers to watch the release into tribal land, an area usually closed to the public. Bighorn sheep, separated into two trailers, rushed out in waves.
