Our artisan gallery is also filled with stunning works from beaded Native American moccasins and drums to silk scarves, jewelry, poetry books, and more.

VIRGINIA CITY — Dec. 4-5, 2021, St. Mary’s Art Center, historic landmark and former St. Mary Louise Hospital built in 1875, will host more than 22 artists and makers for a festive, vibrant and fun weekend of arts, crafts, refreshments, and holiday music.

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada is kicking off its first of several fundraisers. Like many other businesses the Children’s Museum is also struggling to make ends meet. Operating costs such as rent and utilities make it impossible for a nonprofit whose main funding source has been cut by 75% to make ends meet.

The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) announces its exhibition, "Photo Finished 2021", at the Community Development Building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City through March 25, 2021.

CARSON CITY — The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum announced Thursday it is reopening to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 19, the day after the nation celebrates Martin Luther King Day.

The Nevada Artists Association Gallery starts off 2021 with the New Year's Show, a collection of over 65 member entries in categories, including oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, 3D, dry media and photography.

CARSON CITY — Nevada artists who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may apply through Jan. 29, 2021, for a $1,000 grant to be used to alleviate financial pressures due to COVID-19. Properly completed applications for the Fiscal Year 2021 Artist Relief Grant program will be entered into a process for randomized selection. If application requests exceed funding available, the Nevada Arts Council will prioritize geographic diversity and underserved populations.

CHS Senior Abby Golik, after being told Senior Projects, a Carson High School graduation requirement, were temporarily cancelled, decided she wanted to do a Senior Project anyway.

Carson City Symphony Association announces release of Project Euterpe Episode 11 featuring the Carson Chamber Singers, an affiliate of the Carson City Symphony, performing "Hodie Christus natus est," by Dutch composer, organist, and teacher Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Choral Director Richard "Ricky" Hutton leads the 27 singers and brass quintet.

Carson Valley is putting on a show, and we don’t just mean our glorious Fall colors! The Carson Valley Arts Council is hosting the first annual Carson Valley Art Studio Tour next October 2021, and they are seeking input from interested fine artists at this time. The Nevada Builders Alliance, owner of the Bank Saloon, has requested assistance by the Brewery Arts Center to solicit proposals from local artists to beautify the electric transformer box located at their property on the corner of Carson and 5th streets. The owners of the property are looking for designs that will go with the established aesthetic of both inside and outside of the bank saloon.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Organizers of SnowGlobe, the annual music festival held in South Lake Tahoe, have canceled their 10th annual event due to COVID concerns.
