Carson City Historical Society's final yard sale, flea market of summer is this Saturday
The Carson City Historical Society's second and last flea market yard sale of the summer will be this Saturday at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum park.
Come find that special item from one of the 12 vendors who will be offering antiques, collectibles, crafts and jewelry.
The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum park, 1207 N. Carson Street.
While the Historical Society's sale is a summer wrap-up, there are two other community garage and yard sales this month.
Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space will host its first Community Garage Sale on Sept. 23, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are invited to participate as either a buyer or a seller.
There are two ways sellers can sell items during the Community Garage Sale event. First, sellers may purchase a “shop space” which consists of two parking stalls.
Sellers will use their shop space to setup their garage sale area anyway they see fit. Sellers must provide their own pop-up tents and tables if desired. In addition, sellers may purchase more than one space.

The fee for a shop space is $10 per two parking stalls. The Community Garage Sale will be located at the Carson City Community Center east side parking lot. Vehicles will be permitted to enter the parking lot to setup between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., after 9 a.m. all vehicles must be parked outside of the Community Garage Sale event area. Only sellers who register with Carson City Parks and Recreation by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 will be allowed to participate. Weapons and any other potentially dangerous or illegal items are not allowed for any sale or distribution at the event.
Secondly, sellers can participate by arranging shop space at their residence. For sellers who wish to avoid relocating their garage sale items they can simply register to be placed on the Community Garage Sale locator map. Sellers who register can display their address on an interactive map which can be found at carson.org/sale.
The fee is $5 to display residential garage sales on the interactive map. This service is only available for garage sales occurring on Sept. 23.
All community members are invited to come to the Community Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop at the Community Garage Sale and tour surrounding garage sales using the locator map at carson.org/sale. To register as a seller for the Community Garage Sale event contact Dan Earp at (775) 283-7422 or email at djearp@carson.org.
Finally, on Saturday, Sept. 30 the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada is having its yard sale from 7am to 2pm. The sale will be in the museum’s parking lot located at 813 North Carson Street, Carson City. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Children’s Museum which is a nonprofit receiving no federal or state funding. The museum has received generous donations from the community of clothing, furniture, household items, artwork and many vintage items. All are welcome. If you would like to donate, please call Charlie Blim at 775-575-7333.
