Friday, Dec. 8: Things to do in Carson City and beyond
We’ve got one heck of a weekend on its way, and it’s starting right now. Start off with a trip to the Governor’s Mansion with something non-perishable for the annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive: you won’t even have to leave the warmth of your vehicle. Break a leg to Wild Horse Children’s Theater and to the Proscenium Players. Both troupes begin the run of their winter plays tonight at the Brewery Arts Center. It’s a Christmas Shopping Extravaganza at Fuji Park. You’ll find a plethora of vendors, crafters, and artisans waiting to help make your holiday shopping hassle-free.

- — 25th annual Channel 2 News Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive: Drop off points are the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City or the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, by the RV Registration Booth (6am-6pm, volunteers welcome; cash/checks, non-perishable food products and disposable household items i.e. toilet paper and paper towels appreciated; music, emergency vehicles, service men and women, a blood drive, and Santa at the Minden location)

- — Christmas Craft Fair in the Carson Mall (11am-5pm; Vendors, Family activities for all to enjoy, Visits and Photos with Santa Claus, Reindeer Games, Pony Express, Rainbow Girls gift wrap, Christmas Carols)
- — Community Craft Service Project at the Carson Mall Craft Fair, the (11am-5pm; we are creating holiday stockings for Richards Crossing, a festive paper place mat for Meals on Wheels recipients, and writing cards for past and present service men and women serving our country. All supplies will be provided, there is no obligation, and all ages and creative levels are encouraged to participate; This event is part of JustServe.org and #LightTheWorld service campaign and sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
