Nevada Museum of Art to Present Reno Jazz Orchestra Concert

The program is presented as part of UPSTAGE: A Literary and Performing Art Series supported by the Nightingale Family Foundation and the Williams Foundation. The concert will showcase original compositions by contemporary composers.

The Carson City location at 1870 Russell Way is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with dozens of hands-on programs. Spots inside the building are limited to 135 kids each day, but countless activities will be held throughout the year.

Even though forecasters say we may have showers this weekend, the cool spring rain won't dampen the fun. We have a bevy of activities lined up Friday including the opening of the Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, day 1 of the two-day Mother's Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, RSVP's Spring Celebration and Carnival at Mills Park, a day hike, art showings, live music and more.
Carson City Public Works to host May open house

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the public works main facility, 3505 Butti Way off of Fairview. The open house will feature equipment tours, informational displays, raffle prizes, games, bounce houses, duck races and more.
