The featured speaker at Carson City's June 14th Democratic luncheon will be wild horse and burro ecologist and biologist Craig Downer. His appearance follows on from the extended presentation on climate change he gave at the April 26th tele-luncheon, when there was insufficient time to summarize the points made or engage in a question and answer session with in-person attendees and those who took advantage of the full-length, on-demand video recording. All those seeking such clarifications are encouraged to attend.

Before COVID-19 hit the capital city, Trick or Treating had been changed to Friday, Oct. 30 since the Nevada Day Parade was falling on Oct. 31 this year.

Despite the parade being cancelled, Trick or Treating is still going to be held Oct. 30 at this time, unless otherwise directed by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak.

Carson City non-profits awarded nearly $800,000 in COVID-19 relief funding via CARES Act

Fifteen Carson City non-profits were awarded nearly $800,000 in COVID-19 relief funding via the CARES act during the Board of Supervisor's meeting held Thursday.

The State of Nevada through the CARES Act has allocated over $10 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds “CRF” to Carson City. Carson City’s Preliminary Plan of Expenditure allocated $1 million to be awarded to non-profit organizations located in Carson City.

Summer drive-in movies at BAC offer family fun in Carson City while social distancing

The Brewery Arts Center normally provides the Levitt-Amp concert series throughout the summer, but due to COVID-19 the festivities were cancelled this year. Nevada Arts Council gives out $392,250 in CARES Act funds to arts groups statewide

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Arts Council has issued $392,250 in federal funds to 79 arts organizations through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Grant amounts ranged from $1,000 to $10,000, based on each group’s total annual revenue.
