The Nevada Day celebration began with a helicopter air lifted American Flag flown over Carson City as the National Anthem plays while the Carson City Sheriff's Office leads the parade down Carson Street.

The Carson City Host Lions Club has been designated an official vendor of the Nevada Day Button. Lions will be selling the buttons again this year during the Nevada Day Parade for $2.

Brooke Santina, Executive Director of Nevada Day, Inc., will speak at the Soroptimist Program meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at noon.

The program will provide information on the Nevada Parade and other events the non-profit puts on.

Carson Mall will host Nevada Day Festivities! Carson Mall will have our 3rd annual Craft Show, Rock Drilling, Best In The West Bloody Mary Contest with a cash prize, and Corn Hole Tournament.

It was a fine morning for launching balloons on this Nevada Day celebration. This year there were quite a number of balloons, which added many colors to the already blue sky.

The Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club will be hosting the 32nd running of Nevada Day Classic 2M/8K, on October 30 at 8 AM, at the Carson City Nugget.
This is a classic road course through the beautiful streets of the historic West Side of Carson City. The races precede the Nevada Day Parade celebrating Nevada's entry into the Union with a course finish down the main drag of Carson City with spectators lining the way.

All runners of all distances will receive a custom wooden medal! The first 200 runners that register are guaranteed a t-shirt!

The Carson City Host Lions Club is sponsoring a fun Chalk Art Contest as part of the Nevada Day festivities on Oct. 30. The contest is open to individuals, families, and businesses. Contestants will create chalk art masterpieces on sidewalk at a central location on East Washington Street based on the theme of “My Favorite Moment in Nevada.”

All aboard the Halloween Fairytale Express. The Carson City Railroad Association, in partnership with Wild Horse Productions, are bringing back the Halloween train ride at Mills Park in Carson City for Nevada Day weekend.

Carson High School's NJROTC Drill and Color Guard team competed in their first ever ‘virtual’ drill competition hosted by University of North Carolina ROTC program. The various teams’ performances were captured on video and sent to the University for judging.

The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce the winning entries in the Nevada Day Chalk Art Contest held on Oct. 31. The contest was open to all Carson City residents, households and businesses. Contestants created chalk art masterpieces on their own driveways or sidewalks based on the Nevada Day theme of “My Favorite Moment in Nevada.”

On a beautiful Northern Nevada day, werewolves, pirates, escaped prisoners, witches, scuba divers, a Top Gun Tom Cruise look-alike, and other costumed creatures came out in force on Friday, October 30th to play in the Halloween Golf Scramble held at Silver Oak Golf to support the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department opened three new segments of trail following an Oct. 30 ribbon cutting. These fun new trails are part of a network of non-motorized paths that connect residents with almost 5,000 acres of Carson City Parks and Open Space within the Carson River/Prison Hill area. Future plans include completing a multi-use path around Prison Hill.
