Congressman Mark Amodei joined volunteers, guests and community members Sunday evening off McKay Drive in Carson City to officially dedicate the newly refurbished C-Hill Flag.
The C-Hill Foundation, which spearheaded the effort that spanned nearly two years of fundraising, planning and volunteer work to restore the massive iconic American flag, organized the Sunday gathering that brought community leaders, project partners and citizens to the foot of the C-Hill trailhead.

“What began as whitewash and rocks has become something much greater — a symbol of tradition community, pride and shared history,” said Amodei, a Carson City native and 1976 Carson High School graduate who will retire after serving his eighth full term in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District.
“The stories connected to C-Hill are remarkable and thanks to your efforts, those stories will continue to inspire future generations,” he said.

As part of the ceremony, a fixed plaque was installed on a stone near the trailhead, acknowledging the C-Hill Foundation Board and Project partners.
Last week, the C-Hill Foundation announced that through a combination of financial contributions, donated materials and volunteer labor, the Nevada Builders Alliance (NBA) and several of its member companies have contributed more than $60,000 to help restore Carson City’s iconic C-Hill Flag, preserving one of the region’s most recognizable symbols of community pride and patriotism.

The restoration comes at a meaningful time as communities across the nation prepare to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, reinforcing the enduring significance of the American flag as a symbol of unity, resilience and shared values, said C-Hill Foundation President Lucia Maloney.
