Wells Fargo Study Finds Senior Isolation and Loneliness a Growing Concern as Pandemic Continues

CARSON CITY, Nev. — As social restrictions continue in support of public health, risks associated with isolation permeate among the aging population. According to a Wells Fargo study conducted by The Harris Poll from Nov. 17-19 , a quarter (25%) of all seniors age 60 and above report feeling isolated and lonely, and over a third (43%) can go days without talking to others and spend most of their time alone.

The Sertoma Coat Drive is in full operation for its fourth year of collecting and distributing clothing to the people in the community who are without warm outerwear. East Fork Fire and Carson City Fire Department were called Wednesday afternoon to a small brush fire in the area of Mica Drive and Vista Grande Boulevard in Douglas County.

Nevada retailers projected to hire 4,700 workers for holiday season

Retailers in Nevada and throughout the United States are ramping up hiring campaigns for the all-important holiday shopping season. In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada estimates retailers will boost hiring by 4,700 positions during the holiday shopping period.

Carson City deputies make arrests for alleged indecent exposure, theft at store

A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of indecent or obscene exposure, a gross misdemeanor offense, a Carson City sheriff's office booking report states.
