C-Hill Flag Dedication Ceremony on Sunday

The public is invited to celebrate the completed restoration Sunday during the official C-Hill Flag Dedication Ceremony from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 1499 McKay Drive in Carson City.

The event will feature remarks from Congressman Mark Amodei, community leaders, project partners and representatives from the C-Hill Foundation. Public parking will be available nearby and no hiking will be required.

Last week, the C-Hill Foundation announced that through a combination of financial contributions, donated materials and volunteer labor, the Nevada Builders Alliance (NBA) and several of its member companies have contributed more than $60,000 to help restore Carson City’s iconic C-Hill Flag, preserving one of the region’s most recognizable symbols of community pride and patriotism.

The restoration effort, spearheaded by the C-Hill Foundation, marks the culmination of nearly two years of fundraising, planning and volunteer work to restore the massive American flag overlooking Carson City.

See the Foundation’s website here for a list of project partners and donors.

The restoration comes at a meaningful time as communities across the nation prepare to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, reinforcing the enduring significance of the American flag as a symbol of unity, resilience and shared values, said C-Hill Foundation President Lucia Maloney.

“This project represents what is possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose,” said C-Hill Foundation President Lucia Maloney. “We are incredibly grateful to the Nevada Builders Alliance and its member companies for their generosity, partnership and commitment to helping preserve this important Carson City landmark for future generations.”
