I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Feb. 7-8

Looks like our rain and snow dances finally did the trick, but don’t let the weather scare you away from downtown this weekend. The Downtown Business Association’s Wine Walk, Artsy Fartsy’s Annual Jewelry Sale, Just Brew It’s Annual Thirsty Boy Home Brew Competition, and Family Fun Day at the Nevada State Museum are all hoping to lure you out of your home. Leave your ice skates at home though, the Arlington Square ice rink has closed for the season.

The International Film Weekend wraps up Saturday night with ‘Obaba,’ a Spanish language film about secret lives in a Basque village. Re-live the 80s with 16 Candles at the Fandango’s Galaxy Theater on Sunday night. Sassafras celebrates its grand re-opening with live music by local favorites Notch 8 and Hick’ry Switch. All weekend Fuji Park is where you will find great booths and workshops at the Spring Earth Spirit Faire.

Every week, I create a list of the fun stuff and events going on around the Carson City area for my Facebook page, I Love Carson City. I follow the pages of local businesses and organizations, search website calendars, keep my ear to the ground, and compile a list of anything and everything going on in this community. Some of it is family friendly, some is just for adults, but all of it is nearby.
