According to a Facebook post by Bella Fiore Wines, the local bar has lost their lease at their spot at McFadden Plaza, and their doors will be closing on Feb. 1, 2020.

According to Bella Fiore, they have not been able to find a new venue they can afford, so the future of the wine bar is currently up in the air.

Saturday, November 2

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the second annual Evening with Divas in Carson City, a Día de Muertos celebration at the Nevada State Museum, Nevada Artists Association’s 40th anniversary celebration, paranormal ghost investigations in Virginia City, a pie baking contest in Gardnerville and much more!

This Nevada Day, the GreenUP initiative made its debut in order to help Carson City get a little more green — especially along the parade route.

With the weather reaching the mid-80s, now is the perfect time to get out and explore during a jam-packed three days around the Carson City region. Friday has plenty of events to get you to the weekend.

Several art and music events in Carson City on Friday, June 7 are perfectly timed so you can attend all three. Drop by for appetizers and see the "Translating Silver City" art show at City Hall from 3 to 4:30 p.m., then view Capital City Art Initiative's "New Crop 2019" exhibition and meet the artists over a glass of wine at the nearby reception at the Court House Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. Finish the night with a free concert by Athena McIntyre at McFadden Plaza near The Fox Brewpub from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

As we head into a jam-packed Memorial Day weekend, activities and events around Carson City on Friday will help set the mood for what promises to be a tremendous few days ahead. Festivities include the opening day of the Rockin’ Rib Fest at Carson City's Casino Fandango, the planting of American flags on the graves of our fallen veterans at Lone Mountain Cemetery, a weekly open mic night at A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, live music and more.

Good morning Carson City! It's going to be another beautiful day in the capital city, with highs of 78 and lows of 44. On the docket today we've got a canned food drive to help the Ron Wood Center, a volunteer day to restore the Mills Park train, a Mother's Day Plant Sale, and more! Here's what we've got going on for Saturday:

The weekend is at our doorstep as we head into Friday, May 10, 2019. Even though forecasters say we may have showers this weekend, the cool spring rain won't dampen the fun. We have a bevy of activities lined up Friday including the opening of the Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, day 1 of the two-day Mother's Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, RSVP's Spring Celebration and Carnival at Mills Park, a day hike, art showings, live music and more.

Blu Jaz will perform this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at Bella Fiore Wines in Carson City. The four-piece band has quite a following. Blu Jaz performa a steady diet of blues and jazz coupled with a few dance upbeat songs.

They're becoming somewhat a fixture at Bella Fiore Wines, located at 224 S. Carson Street in the McFadden Plaza. The band consists of Myke Smith, on saxes, Bradley Harris, guitarist and harmonica, Paul Bonaldi, on drums and Tim Goldsmith on bass.

For those weary from all the snow around Carson City so far this month, about the only good news to share is that your weekend is here and there's plenty to do indoors if winter recreation isn't your thing.

From workshops to live music, a skate demo at The WheelHouse and even a special "Caturday Night Out" at the Carson Nugget to help homeless felines in the area, there are places to go around Carson City where you can keep warm, stay dry and have fun!

Live music featuring Blu' Jaz is scheduled for Jan. 4-5 and 18-19 from 7-9 p.m. at Bella Fiore Wines, 224 S. Carson Street in Carson City.

Take advantage of the extra daylight while it lasts. Saturday is the final day of the year for Daylight Savings Time. Be sure to "fall back" one hour on your clocks Saturday night into early Sunday when Standard Time takes over.

Great news! Keith Alan Barnett is joining Dale Poune for one night only at Bella Fiore Wines this Saturday evening, Nov. 3 beginning at 6 p.m.

Dale Poune is a musician and songwriter. He plays guitar, bass, mandolin, dobro and sings. Poune is experienced at Rock, Blues, R&B, Country, smooth jazz and Bluegrass. He has performed with the Lacy J. Dalton, The Fortunes, Buddy Miles, David Frizzell, Johnny Lee, Paulette Carlson (HWY 101) and Marty Haggard.

Ideas On Tap, a monthly conversation and public discussion about issues important to the community, is moving its November venue from Battle Born Social to Bella Fiore Wines in downtown Carson City, said event moderator and founder Mike Smith.

Pirates on the Plaza, held Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Bob McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City, was a first-year success thanks to so many involved. With all of the gifts given, The Golden Sock Campaign and Friends In Service Helping, also known as FISH, received over $1200.

Commodore Kraken and his scruvy crew of pirates arrived from Reno Saturday morning, coming ashore on Bob McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City for "Pirates on the Plaza," a fun-filled fundraising event to help the area's homeless.

Look alive, because buccaneers are sailing into the Nevada state capital for “Pirates on the Plaza,” a fun-filled, family-friendly fundraising event on Bob McFadden Plaza, located between Carson and Curry streets along the old Third Street in downtown Carson City.

Thank goodness for Thursday. The weekend is just hours away, but there is no reason to wait for the fun to start. Take a stroll with Muscle Powered: today’s hike will wind through the far east side of Carson, from Silver Saddle Ranch to Mexican Dam. Artsy Fartsy Art Galley hosts an artist meet and greet for Catherine King; enjoy a glass of wine while discovering her newest work. Head down the rabbit hole, and you may wind up on McFadden Plaza. The Carson City Classic Cinema Club brings the recent live-action version of Alice in Wonderland to the big screen on the downtown stage.

It almost seems like the weekend is starting early, with all the great times offered today. The Carson City Fair is in full swing and will offer family-friendly fun through Sunday. Movie-lovers of all ages will enjoy tonight’s Movie on the Plaza: Princess Bride. It’s free to attend, but you’ll want to bring your own seating. As we head into the weekend, you’ll find a fair number of ways to get the party started. Happy Anniversary to Living the Good Life; they will be celebrating four years of good times with Deception rocking their outdoor stage. For something all ages, head down to McFadden Plaza for live music by Just for Fun. For those who prefer a spot on the stage, check out Open Mic night at A to Zen or karaoke at Whiskey Tavern. No membership is necessary for tonight’s Race for Life with Carson City BMX; all ages are welcome, just don’t forget your helmet.

There is more hot and smoky in store for the day, including a very real threat of thunderstorms. You may want to stick to indoor activities when the air quality is low like this. The Capital City Community Band has a free concert and ice cream social scheduled for this afternoon at the First United Methodist Church. All are welcome, and it’s hard to argue with ice cream on a day like this. If you are looking to start your own business, but still some legal guidance, you’ll find the ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ workshop at the Adams Hub extremely helpful.

Summer heat is in full effect and with thunderstorms threatening the Sierra, wildfires are even more likely. Luckily, you’ll find some ways to entertain the kids without having to head outdoors. Head down for family story time at the Carson City Library with the young ones; older kids will want to check out the weekly Lego Club this afternoon. The Rally Route 50 West automotive scavenger hunt and race comes to an end this evening in McFadden Plaza with an announcement of the winners. Summertime Cruise Nights continue with this week’s meet-up at Johnny Rockets.

What a week. I hope you’ve had the chance to catch your breath from Independence Day, we’ve got a wine walk on its way tomorrow. Tonight, head down to McFadden Plaza at Third and Carson. Tonight’s outdoor concert features the Reno Swing Set, so bring your dancing shoes. The ‘Dive-In’ Movie at the Carson Aquatic Center is a fun option for families. FRIDAY, July 6: Things to do in Carson City

Into every life, a little trash must fall. A whole lot of trash, however, might be involved if you’re a beach. Keep Tahoe Blue is hitting the lake shore this morning to help mitigate the aftermath of yesterday’s festivities; lend a hand if you can. If you are looking for something quiet today, check out our local art galleries: they all have revolving exhibits featuring a variety of artists. The True Grit Exhibit at Western Nevada College comes to a close tomorrow, so head up there before it hits the trail.

THURSDAY, July 5: Things to do in Carson City

Independence Day isn’t until Wednesday, but the red, white, and blue celebration starts now. For a complete listing of upcoming Independence Day events and fireworks displays in the area, you can go HERE. See the trains under steam at the Nevada State Railroad and ride the rails to your heart’s content.

Let the band play on. Friday night offers some great night-life options for all ages. Fridays at Third continues with an outdoor concert featuring Road Daddy in the McFadden Plaza. Carson Mall plays hosts to their monthly cruise night. come for the cool cars and poker walk but stick around for a performance by Mo’z Motley Blues Band on the patio by Bella Vita Bistro. It’s open mic night at A to Zen; all talents and all ages are invited to show their stuff on the Zen stage.
