Friday, July 10: Things to do in Carson City
What a crazy week in the Sierras! Afternoon thunderstorms for the last several days, flooding, hail, and even snow in Yosemite are definitely unusual for this time of year. The storms are expected to subside this weekend, so keep your fingers crossed for some sunshine. Break a leg to the Proscenium Players as they open Murder in an English Manor at the Brewery Arts Center. Senior Follies debuts this year’s performance, Flashback, at the Community Center.

Happy birthday, Nikola Tesla: inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist. Celebrate International Tesla Day by celebrating his genius, and take a listen to what his Tesla coil can do. I’ve included a YouTube link, but just throw Tesla in the search and you can learn to make a Tesla coil of your own. Teaching it to sing, however, may be a little more difficult.
