Here's what's happening Tuesday:
— Muscle Powered Tuesday Morning Walk at Long Ranch. 8 a.m. Come join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride around Carson City! Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building. A schedule of all upcoming activities and events can be found at www.musclepowered.org/calendar. Sep 24 – Long Ranch Estates Trail. Meet at the corner of Longview Way and Bristol Place where we will walk the trails in the neighborhood.Morning walks start at 8 AM and are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths. — Capital City Arts Initiative Presents: New Crop 2019. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carson City Courthouse Gallery, 885 E. Musser St. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) presents its exhibition, New Crop 2019, by artists Mark Combs and Frances Melhop.
— Capital City Arts Initiative Presents: Constellation. 8 a.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) presents its exhibition, Constellation. Nine students from the University of Nevada Reno’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program have work in the exhibit. The free exhibition is available to the public now through Dec. 10, 2019 on Mondays – Fridays, 8:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m. The artists include Rachael Blizzard, Tessa Clawson, Josh Galarza, Robert Ibarra, Sandra Kramp, Carla Miller, Cesar Piedra, Shara Sinatra, and Amber Skilling. — Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery Autumn Membership Show, now through Oct. 18. Enjoy artwork from our member artists. Membership has risen to nearly 150 local artists during our 40th year operating as a gallery. The Autumn Membership show runs from Sept. 8 to Oct. 18 at Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery at 449 W. King Street in Carson City. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Also, save the date, Nov. 3 we will be hosting our 40th Anniversary Celebration on location at the Gallery, 2-4 p.m. Please join us in marking this historical occasion.
— Carson Nugget in Carson City hosts Job Fair. 2 p.m. The Carson Nugget is pleased to announce that we are hosting a job fair on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to fill positions in full time, part time and seasonal capacities. All levels of experience are invited to attend the event which takes place in Alatte on the main floor of the casino on N. Carson Street. Come check out what the Nugget has to offer! Job Fair Location: Carson Nugget – Alatte, main floor – 507 North Carson Street, Carson City. Time: 2-4PM.
— Culinary Traveler’s Club at Bleu Cafe: Bella Roma. 5 to 8 p.m. Bleu Café is excited to bring you an authentic Italian dinner. Traveling throughout Italy, history and culture is everywhere. You can see it in the architecture, hear it in the exuberant voices of the locals, and certainly taste it in the food. When we think of Italian food, pizza, pasta, and gelato come to mind but there is so much more to Italian cuisine. There are 20 individual regions in Italy, each one offering their own specialties that are completely unique. Our “Bella Roma!” dinner will feature classic dishes from the region of Lazio, Rome. We will use recipes and techniques we acquired from Roman cooks, and use imported ingredients to present you with a meal that is as authentically Italian as possible. We will serve artichokes in the Giggetto al Portico d’Ottavia style, Pane Roma from Trastevere, Tiramisu from Campo dei Fiori, and more. Please join us and do as the Italians do: relax, have a nice meal with friends, raise your glass of Chianti and say, “Cin cin!” The Bella Roma menu is available online here. — Relay for Life fundraiser Tuesday at Carson City Firehouse Subs. 5 to 9 p.m. Firehouse Subs in Carson City is the place to be Tuesday evening for dinner, and a fundraiser for the Carson City and Douglas County Relay for Life. Join Relay for Life organizers Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Firehouse Subs, Highway 50 in Carson City for a Dine And Donate event for the Carson City, Douglas County Relay For Life. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Firehouse Subs will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
— Fat Tuesday Business Networking in Carson City. There will be a business networking social in Carson City on Sept. 24. The Fat Tuesday event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., Carson City at the high table at the Alatte. Go here to register. Our Dayton, Mound House group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month. The Carson City group meets the 4th Thursday the month. No membership fees. Only bring your business cards. Registration is required. Attendance is free. You pay for your drinks; we've got the appetizers covered.
— Muscle Powered Tuesday Evening Hike at Prison Hill. 5:30 p.m. Come join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride around Carson City! Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building. A schedule of all upcoming activities and events can be found at www.musclepowered.org/calendar. Sept 24 - Prison Hill West Loop. Meet in parking area located off of the east end of Koontz Lane. Tuesday evening hikes start at 5:30 PM and are usually 1 1/2 hours or more duration and are 4-6 miles in length. Water and closed-toed shoes are required. Hat and poles recommended. — Muscle Powered Ladies Mountain Bike Ride. 5:30 p.m. Join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride to enjoy Nevada outdoors around Carson City. Meetup at Foothill Drive just off of N Winnie Lane. Rides start at 5:30 PM and are open to all skill levels. All riders must carry water and have a mountain bike in safe working condition, helmet, closed toed shoes, spare tube, pump and tools to change a flat tire. — Tuesday night archery shoots return to Carson City's Centennial Park Archery Range. 5:30 p.m. Every Tuesday evening, 5:30 to dusk, the Clear Creek Bowmen host its Tuesday Night Archery Shoots at the Centennial Park Archery Range in Carson City. Both traditional and 3D targets are available. The target range is open shooting for use at no cost. There is a $5 fee (kids 17 and under are free) to shoot the 3D animal targets. We have archery equipment, volunteers and instructors to get you started. Come on out and join us. It’s a great way to experience the world of archery. Open to all ages. — Parents of Addicted Loved Ones hold meetings Tuesday evenings. 6 p.m. PAL provides education and support, at no cost, for family members (over 18) trying to save a son, daughter or family member from addiction to alcohol or drugs. By attending our meetings on Tuesdays, 6 p.m. at Partnership Carson City office at 1925 N Carson City St., you will give and receive support from others who are facing the same challenges you are.
— Democratic congressional candidate to host town hall meeting on gun safety. 6 p.m. On the heels of a much needed town hall on gun safety and legislation in Reno, Clint Koble, Democratic congressional candidate for Northern Nevada’s CD-2, will be holding his second town hall on the topic tonight in Carson City. Koble will engage Northern Nevadans in a much needed discussion about congressional action to strengthen America’s gun laws.
The event is 6 p.m. at La Santaneca Restaurant, 316 E Winnie Ln, Carson City.
— Empty Bowls, Open Studio. 6 to 8:30 p.m. Create an empty bowl to donate to charity, instruction will be offered to create and paint a bowl or create something on our own during open studio session. Open studio time at Ogres-Holm Pottery is free of charge and open to the public. 1215 South Carson Street.
— Supper Club, Live Music at Living the Good Life Nightclub Bistro and Lounge. 6:30 p.m. Living the Good Life presents a new monthly Tuesday night Supper Club beginning this Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening features a champagne toast, a dinner menu and live music by The Message with special guest vocalist Terri Campillo.
