— Friday Morning Walk to Linear Ditch Trail West hosted by Muscle Powered. 8 a.m. Join Muscle Powered for its weekly one hour walks to enjoy Nevada outdoors in Carson City. Meet in the parking lot at Governor's Field on Evalyn Drive off Roop Street. Water and closed-toe shoes required. All walks are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths.
— Pre-service foster parent training Sept. 21-23 in Fallon. 8 a.m. In rural Nevada, many teens and children need a safe, temporary living situation, so Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is inviting the community to learn about becoming a foster caregiver by attending pre-service foster parent training, Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Lake and Tahoe Rooms, 801 E. Williams Avenue in Fallon. The training is open to the public, though registration is required. — Cardio and Strength Connection class offered at Carson Tahoe, 10 a.m. If you've had problems with your heart, or have diabetes, a healthy lifestyle is the best way to get you feeling like you should. We've created Cardio & Strength Connection to help you develop a healthy exercise program in a safe and comfortable environment. Monthly cost is $10. Thursday classes are held at 3476 Executive Pointe Pkwy, Suite 14) from 10 to 11 a.m.

— Carson City Supervisor Karen Abowd's walkabout Friday to focus on affordable housing crisis. Noon. Carson City Supervisor, Ward 1, Karen Abowd hosts her monthly Walkabout Friday, Sept. 21 at Mills Park. This is her next to last event, prior to leaving office in November, and while all topics are welcomed, Abowd would like to focus as much time as possible on discussing the affordable housing crisis. Everyone is invited to join the conversation, and bring ideas, questions and concerns. To participate, simply meet at noon on the steps of Carson City Community Center. Take a sack lunch if desired.
— Keith Nelson to headline the Carson Comedy Club. 8 p.m. Keith Nelson will be headlining the Carson Comedy Club Friday and Saturday, Sept 21-22, 8 p.m. inside the Carson Nugget located at 507 N Carson St. Tickets can be purchased at the Winners Club inside the Carson Nugget or at ccnugget.com.

— Carson City Art Gallery & Pottery Mid-Month Artist Reception: Roger Freeman, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 110 S. Curry St. Carson City Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for September is Roger Freeman, a multi medium artist living and working in the Carson City area. He is currently represented by Carson City Art Gallery where he has several works displayed for sale. Light refreshments will be served. — Student Art Exhibition: The Wind Calls, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) announces it’s exhibition, The Wind Calls featuring nine University of Nevada, Reno, students’ work. The free exhibition is available to the public through October 9, 2018, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm. It is held at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St., Carson City.
— The Wind Calls includes work by Mahedi Anjuman, Nicki Bracco, Mark Combs, Teal Francis, Hannah Huntley, Gwaylon Leaf, Frances Melhop, Ally Messer, and Carla Miller. The artists used a wide variety of art media including mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and photography to make their art and comments on contemporary life and society.
— The Capital City Arts Initiative, also known as CCAI, presents its exhibition, "Jenny Raven: The Creative Growth Years 1979 - 1984" with artwork by artist Jenny Raven in the city’s Community Center Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition is available to the public through October 18, 2018. The Sierra Room is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative presents “Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth" at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery in Carson City. The exhibition, with art by 17 artists, will be in the gallery Monday through Friday until Sept. 27, 2018. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Live Music at Glen Eagle Restaurant, 3700 N. Carson St., Carson City. Starting at 6:30, Enjoy food featuring lunch and dinner specials, full-service bar, beautiful vistas and friendly service.
— Live music tonight at Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge, the Sagebrush Rebels will perform outside Friday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. 1480 N Carson St., Carson City.
