Applications now open for FISH Student Housing in Carson City

The FISH Student Housing Revitalization Project continues to make way now with paving and asphalt complete throughout the apartment towers and commercial building area of 1455 N. Carson Street in downtown Carson City. All parking spots have been numbered and will be assigned to each of the 36 apartment units.

A local chapter of the Red Hat Society named the “Classy Sassy Bear Ladies” organized a Christmas gift giveaway for the residents. Over 2,000 Books Collected for Affordable Housing Property Residents

Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) and United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) completed a successful book drive during October, which is National Housing American Month. Carson City announces sale of city-owned parcels on Brown Street

Carson City invites interested individuals to bid on the purchase of the Brown Street Properties comprising of parcel numbers 008-303-15, -16, -21, 36, -37, and -39, through public auction for not less than fair market value.

In 2005 the Western Nevada HOME Consortium (WNHC) funded the purchase of properties on Brown Street using federal HOME funds in order to construct 45 units of affordable, for-ownership low-income housing. This project failed to materialize due to the economic downturn and the eventual bankruptcy of the developer.

Nevada Housing Division rental housing locator website gets new look, better search tools

The Nevada Housing Division will celebrate the fifth year of its rental housing locator at a relaunch party to introduce a new look and easier navigation of the NVHousingSearch.org website. Board of Supervisor's meeting to discuss several new Carson City subdivision plans
