Affordable housing advocate to speak at Democratic tele-luncheon
Featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Sarah Adler, Principal at Silver State Government Relations. She will be speaking on behalf of the Nevada Housing Coalition, a group dedicated to the expansion of affordable housing solutions in the Silver State.
Affordable housing is defined by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development as “Housing for which the occupants are paying no more than 30% of his or her income for gross housing costs.”
Sarah Adler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and earned a Master of Public Administration and Policy from the University of Nevada, Reno. She was Nevada state director for rural development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture during the Clinton and Obama administrations. She has also served as a grants and special projects manager for the Carson City School District, and was project manager for SafeVoice, the school safety and student well-being tipline at the Nevada Department of Education.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for noon on Monday, February 8th, and will be held online via Zoom teleconference due to the restricted availability of in-person venues. Those wishing to be on distribution for these Zoom links can email Rich Dunn, Men's Committee Events Coordinator, at richdunn@aol.com.
