Fall in love with the Downtown Wine Walk
It’s the perfect season for a stroll downtown and the monthly Downtown Business Association’s monthly Wine Walk gives you a great reason. Grab your friends, neighbors, and a light jacket for this Carson City tradition.
The wine walk runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. every first Saturday of the month. Sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy's Bar, Touched by Angels, Comma Coffee, or inside the Artisan Shop of the Brewery Arts Center. Don't forget to turn in your raffle ticket and vote for your favorite stop. The raffle will be at Alatte in the Carson Nugget at 5 p.m. sharp.
For $15 participants will receive a commemorative wine glass and endless reasons to stroll through Downtown Carson City sipping and tasting the afternoon away. With paid admission you will receive a hand stamp, glass, map of participating stops, and a chance to win raffle prizes. Bring a previous month’s wine glass for a discount.
Enjoy live music at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Center; the Carson City Arts and Cultural Coalition will be there as well to share what’s coming up this autumn. Folk singer Hallie Kirk will be waiting for you at Comma Coffee. Meet local author Ken Beaton at Morley’s Books in the historic (and haunted) Sweetland Building.
Telegraph Square is jam-packed with one of a kind art pieces at Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery and Charlie B Gallery. The Westside Pour House welcomes back ‘Artistically INKlined’, a pop up art show featuring the talents of local tattoo artists. Just down Curry, at the new Carson City Art Gallery, you’ll find a fascinating display of artwork depicting the historic Lake Lahontan.
Purple Avocado, Touched by Angels, and the Patchwork Giraffe are always fun stops. Don’t forget Rockin’ and Rollin’ or Treasure Mountain Apparel on your journey. Due Sorella and Kaleidoscope are packed with fun and unique items. And Little Monsters Children’s Resale will help get your kids ready for the upcoming winter.
Don’t miss the downtown taverns on the map: the Blue Bull, Old Globe Saloon, and Alatte. Just Brew It has a great beer selection, brewing essentials, and growlers.
Downtown Carson City bustles with a plethora of locally owned small businesses. Celebrate the end of the long construction season and go explore.
The Downtown Business Association has a website to keep you updated with the great businesses that make up the core of our historical downtown. You can check it out at www.DowntownCarson.org. You can also follow the DBA on Facebook HERE. Be safe, Carson City, and have a wonderful wine walk!
