A Wassailing Weekend: Wine Walk and Holiday Crawl

Event Date:
December 5, 2015 - 1:00pm

Wassail: (noun) a festivity or revel with drinking of healths; liquor for drinking and wishing health to others on festive occasions (Verb) to revel with drinking. Tis the season for wassailing all over downtown Carson City. Start Saturday, Dec. 5 off with the Downtown Business Association’s monthly wine walk, and stick around for the first ‘Holiday with a Hero’ Holiday Crawl.

The Downtown Business Association is proud to host a downtown Wine Walk in Carson City every single month: rain, shine, or snow. Every first Saturday over thirty shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. Check some people off your holiday gift list, and explore what makes our downtown unique.

The wine walk runs from 1pm to 5pm. Sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Bella Fiore Wines, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy's Bar, or Touched by Angels.

For $15 participants will receive a commemorative wine glass and endless reasons to stroll through Downtown Carson City sipping and tasting the afternoon away. Bring your wine walk glass with the Carson City Logo on it and pay only $13. With paid admission you will receive a hand stamp, glass, map of participating stops, and a chance to win raffle prizes.

Stops are as far north as the Tap-Shack, Just Brew it, and Little Monsters, as far south as Comma Coffee and Mama Em's Bell, Book, and Candle, with plenty in between. Don't forget about participants off the beaten Curry and Carson St. paths: the Brewery Arts Center, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and the Elks Club would love for you to stop by. The Carson Visitors Center and Purple Avocado are not to be missed!

The Downtown Business Association has a new website to keep you updated with the great business that make up the core of our historical downtown. You can check it out at www.DowntownCarson.org. You can also follow the DBA on Facebook here.

Have a wonderful wine walk, but don’t leave downtown just yet.
