Nevada Day events continue Sunday at Mills Park and Legislative Mall with free concert
Nevada Day festivities continue in Carson City through Sunday, today, with the RSVP Carnival and the Battle Born Celebration at Mills Park, a free symphony concert at the Legislative Mall and Halloween festivities.
The salute to America's military "past, present and future" is the theme of this year's statehood events. Featured at the park is the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, living history re-enactments, tributes and military honors and static displays. Go here for more information.
Wild Horse Theater's, None of the Above will kick off at 2:00 pm with a matinee in the Maizie Harris Jesse Theater, 449 W King Street. Tickets can be purchased on line or at the door, www.breweryarts.org.
Meanwhile, the Capitol City Community Band will open its 34th season with a free concert at the Legislative Mall ampitheater beginning at 3 p.m. The band will perform Sousa marches, Broadway tunes, patriotic music and even have their own musical locomotive race.
There will be a Halloween celebration at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada from 4 to 6 p.m.
the cost is $5 per child. Children encouraged to come dressed in costume. For more information call (775) 884-2226.
Carson City's scariest Haunted House will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday and again on Halloween night at A to Zen Gifts & Thrift 1803 N. Carson Street (next to Grocery Outlet). Go here for more information.
