Red Hut Lake Tahoe to host Burger Night fundraiser to benefit Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation
The Red Hut in South Lake Tahoe will host a Burger Night fundraiser to benefit the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation.
The event will be on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the South Lake Tahoe location, at Sk Run Boulevard. Open exclusively for this event, the Red Hut will be serving up combos that include a burger, homemade chips and a fountain soda for a $10 donation to the Foundation. Ice cream treats and shakes will be $1 off as well. Proceeds will benefit the Foundation scholarship fund.
“These burger nights have been very successful for many youth programs in Lake Tahoe,” said organizer Kelly Gardner. “It’s always an exciting evening and everyone has a great time.”
There are 500 tickets for this week’s Red Hut Burger Night which will enable the Foundation to receive a $5,000 donation. Tickets are available at the Foundation building Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 4pm or by calling (530) 314-9285. Tickets will also be available at the door of the event; however, advance purchase is recommended as quantities are limited.
In the spirit of the holidays the Après Wine Co. will also host a Wine Down fundraiser event to support the Foundation (www.heavenlyssf.com) on the same day, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 11am to 10pm. The Après Wine Co. is located in the Ski Run Center across from the Red Hut. Please mention you support the Foundation when making a purchase; 10% of purchases will be donated back to the Foundation. The musical talents of John Chevallier can be enjoyed at the Wine Down from 6pm to 7pm.
Conveniently located at the corner of Ski Run Blvd. and Hwy 50, both events are easily accessible from Heavenly’s California Lodge for an après mountain experience that supports an organization who enables regional youth to enjoy snow sports.
About the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation
The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation is committed to facilitating and leading the local community in the development of programs to encourage youth to participate in winter sports, alpine skiing and snowboarding.
The HSSF operates independently on donations and fundraisers. In addition to providing a safe skiing and riding experience to those within the foundation, outreach and community involvement also play a big part of the base of the Foundation.
Throughout the winter season the HSSF provides scholarships to families whose children would not be able to participate in the race program; hosts a non-race Blue Angels program through the middle school; works with the SOS (Snowboard Outreach Society); works with the Boys and Girls Club of South Lake Tahoe; and organizes multiple events, like the Kinder Kup series, and fundraisers including the annual spring wine gala, Grapes and Gates, at Edgewood.
