A GoFundMe page has been established for the seven teens injured in Thursday's single vehicle rollover crash on Kings Canyon Road. The page creator is listed as Jasmyn Riediger, a Carson High School student and friend of the victims.
Law enforcement has not released the names of the victims or their medical conditions, however, they are listed by the creator of the GoFundMe page. Carson Now will not list the names of those injured unless released by law enforcement. The creator of the page said the money will be used for medical expenses. The fundraising goal is $15,000.
More than $11,000 has been donated as of 2:41 p.m.
Go here to see the GoFundMe page. Also friends are organizing a boys and girls pick-up soccer tourney with donations to go to the victims.
Organized by Junior Ramirez, a member of Carson Futbol Club, the soccer tournament will be held at Talents Athletic Center, 2749 B North Carson Street, Carson City this Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. All proceeds in this fundraiser will go to the CHS students injured in Thursday night's crash. Teams must be 6 person. The fundraising fee is $50 per team. Teams can be co-ed. Contact Junior Ramirez on Facebook here or his Snapchat Account @Efren_00.
"We're doing it for the families and kids because we know it's a very hard time for them. We just want to stand by their sides and for them to know that the boys high school team stands with them during these tough times and so do many other people," said Ramirez.
Plans are in the works for a second tournament next weekend at CHS. We will update when details are firm.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reports via Twitter seven juveniles were involved in Thursday's crash in west Carson City on Kings Canyon Road. Five were not wearing seat belts, two were ejected. Two are suffering life threatening injuries, and 3 are in critical condition.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday night. Two of the seven were flown by Care Flight, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. Injuries of the seven teens range from moderate to critical. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
