Carson City Sheriff’s Office recent arrests

The following arrests were made by Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies from Saturday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016:

— A 31-year-old Carson City man, Brian Hofius-Ward, was arrested Wednesday, 1:09 a.m. in the 2800 block of Menlo Drive for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and five misdemeanors: A failure to appear traffic warrant, fictitious registration, no proof of insurance, driving without a valid license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report an officer made a traffic stop after a Honda Civic had a vehicle plate that dispatch confirmed belonged on a registered Toyota sedan.

The driver could not provide identification or proof of insurance. A warrant check with dispatch came back with a confirmed warrant for failure to appear and he was arrested.

During a vehicle investors officers located a glass pipe commonly used for smoking drugs with a burnt substance, and a pill bottle with a label torn off with two methadone hydrochloride pills, which are schedule II narcotics available by prescription only. Bail: $22,336.

— A 23-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. in the are of North Harbin and East Robinson streets on misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear in traffic court and contempt of court. Bail: $415.

— A 21-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Tuesday, 6:11 a.m. in the area of North Roop and Winnie streets for a misdemeanor violation of pre-trial supervision warrant. Bail: $3,000.

— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 3:04 a.m. in the area of Corbett and Fall streets on misdemeanor warrants for violation of a suspended sentence and contempt of court. Bail: $2,686.

Monday, Oct. 17
— A 38-year-old transient was arrested Monday, 4:23 p.m. in the area of West College Parkway and Oakridge on suspicion of trespassing. Bail: $242.

— A 19-year-old Reno woman was booked Monday, 12:30 p.m. into Carson City jail on misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $1,000.

— A 31-year-old Reno woman was booked into jail Monday, 12:30 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

— A 32-year-old Reno woman was booked into jail Monday on two misdemeanor warrant, for contempt of court and failure to appear. Bail: $1,465.

Sunday, Oct. 16
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 5:59 a.m. in the 300 block of East Long Street on suspicion of gross misdemeanor unlawful taking of a vehicle, hit and run causing property damage and minor consuming alcohol. Bail: $3,379.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman as arrested Sunday, 1:36 a.m. in the area of Ash Canyon and Longview for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $750.

— A 22-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday, 3:44 a.m. in the 2700 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane of traffic. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after a deputy observed him driving within 4 to 5 feet of the vehicle in front of him, and then crossing over the solid white line of traffic three times. The deputy suspect DUI and asked him if he would submit to field sobriety tests. He submitted a preliminary breath test of .209. Bail: $1,224.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:07 a.m. in the area Morgan Mill and Deer Run Road on misdemeanor suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and a violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $4,774.

Saturday, Oct 15
— A 38-year-old Carson City woman, Tera Levand, as arrested Saturday, 10:13 p.m. in the 1400 bloc of East William Street on felony suspicion of possession of a schedule 1 drug with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, and three misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and fictitious registration.

According to the arrest report, the woman was stopped after an officer noticed there wasn’t a registration sticker on the vehicle license plate she was driving. Dispatch advised the plates she had on the vehicle did not go back to the truck she was driving and that she was also driving with an expired license.

The officer informed the woman the car would have to be towed due to her not having a license, insurance and a fictitious registration. During inventory of the vehicle officers located a bag of methamphetamine, three meth pipes, two scales, two marijuana pipes with marijuana in them. She was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak. She was asked where she obtained the methamphetamine and she said she didn’t know how it got there and that it wasn’t hers, the arrest report states. Bail: $9,486.

— A 46-year-old Dayton man, Jason David Blocker, was arrested Saturday, 11:17 p.m. in the area of East William and Saliman on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. According to the arrest report, approximately 1 gram of meth was found in the man’s wallet after he was arrested on the warrant. Bail: $2,500.

— A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:59 p.m. in the 300 block of West Winnie Lane on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to an accident involving three vehicles in a parking lot. The suspect admitted to being at a nearby bar drinking rum and Coke and as he was leaving, he ran into the rear of a pickup. He declined to participate in field sobriety tests and preliminary breath test. He was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI. He declined an evidentiary tests and a search warrant was granted by a judge for a blood draw. Bail: $1,137.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:07 a.m. in the 1600 block of Medical Parkway on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, hit and run, failure to maintain a lane of traffic, violation of a suspended sentence and violation of bail conditions.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded at 6:04 a.m. to the 1000 block of Spartan Avenue to a vehicle crash. Dispatch advised that a white Ford pickup crashed through a fence along Saliman Road and the driver of the truck fled the scene going through a backyard.

Deputies arrived and found debris from the fence and vehicle parts scattered throughout the north side of Saliman Road. Inside the vehicle there was blood and paperwork with the suspect’s identification. Responding deputies quickly began a search for the driver and were advised the truck owner’s residence was in the 3100 block of Halleck Drive.

Deputies went to the residence and saw blood on the front door of the residence. The man, who had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and slow, slurred speech, was asked about the blood and the crash and he replied he did not know what the officers were talking about. He stated he had hit his head inside the residence, the arrest report states.

He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and a telephonic search warrant was served to retrieve a blood draw. As he was receiving medical attention, he asked “where’s my truck?” and made unsolicited comments asking if he hit his head on the windshield and stated he did not remember how he got home, the arrest report states. Saliman Road was closed briefly in order for a tow truck to remove the vehicle.

A 40-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of carrying a concealed knife without a permit, a gross misdemeanor offense, and misdemeanor disturbing the peace, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
