The Carson City Sheriff's Office Youth Cadet program will be hosting its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser, this Saturday, Oct. 8th from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sheriffs Office; 911 East Musser Street.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the 2022 youth Cadet Academy, June 11-12. Participants will be tested physically and mentally through two days of fast paced, high intensity training. You will learn directly from first responders who are experts in their fields.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Deacon Craig LaGier, St. Vincent Advisor and Minister to the Homeless at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community. He also serves as Chaplin for the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Deacon Craig is also the Founding Director of the Night Off The Streets program, or NOTS for short. To reduce the risk of ill healh or death due to hypothermia, NOTS provides overnight shelter at local churches to people without homes.

The incident is currently under investigations and no suspects are outstanding. The Suspect is currently being treated at the hospital for injuries. Highway 395/Gillman to Waterloo remain closed. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to please avoid the area. More information will be released when it becomes available.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office will be the lead investigation agency, as protocol for officer involved shootings to have an outside agency investigate, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. There are two suspects who were in a vehicle, a male and female, who were involved in the incident. Both are in custody, said Furlong. The condition of the injured officer is unknown at this time.

A Douglas County sheriff's officer was shot and suffered serious injuries late Sunday night following an incident in Gardnerville. Two suspects are in custody, according to dispatch reports.
