Adams Hub unveils new Studio space at launch party
Adams Hub for Innovation, 111 W. Proctor Street in Carson City, was jammed with visitors enjoying food, refreshments and conversation Wednesday evening during the grand opening of the company's all-new event space called The Studio.
The 1,500 square-foot addition to the locally-based business incubator program will serve as a multi-purpose facility capable of holding classes, workshops and community events. The Studio will also be a host space for a new chapter of Entrepreneurs Assembly, the award-winning Nevada entrepreneur and business-mentoring organization.
Adams Hub Chief Professional Officer Miya Mackenzie said The Studio's launch party served "to introduce this great new resource, and give everyone a chance to find out about all the things we’re doing to encourage innovation in the community.”
The event was also a great way to connect entrepreneurs and mentors from Adams Hub' business incubator program with the rest of the community, she said.
Innovative local youth members of the New Entrepreneurial Network were present at The Studio launch party, too.
These kids are the products of a partnership between between Adams Hub and the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada. The NewE helps to fuel the entrepreneurial spirit among local school children through the development of life and career skills.
In addition to The Studio, Adams Hub features a bright, open-plan co-working space, private offices and natural-light conference rooms, as well as a rooftop deck.
“We’re here to support local startups and freelancers, and leverage our community collaborations to attract new employers and more highly-compensated jobs to the area," said Adams Hub Community Curator Peggy Wynne Borgman. "We’re proud to be able to play a role in the renaissance of downtown Carson City.”
Adams Hub is a project of the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation, the mission of which is to support members of the Carson City community in learning to help themselves. The company promotes economic self-sufficiency and fosters an environment of creative thinking by helping entrepreneurs turn their ideas into businesses.
