BAC celebrates area's vocal talent Saturday with inaugural 'Evening with the Divas'
Celebrating the arts and the region's most talented vocalists, the Brewery Art Center will feature "Evening with the Divas” billed as a once in a lifetime event, this Saturday in Carson City.
The BAC has enlisted the talent of some of the area's finest vocalists as they join together to raise money to support the various programs of the Brewery Arts Center. Barb D'Anneo, Carolyn Dolan, Grace Hayes, Andie Wilkerson, and Maria Arrigotti Wehr will grace the Performance Hall Stage for a one night only performance.
Accompanied by the Jeff Leep band and Eric Kao and hosted by Stephanie Arrigotti, this is an event of extraordinary talent that simply will not be duplicated.
“The BAC is about celebrating artists and the artistic community and we are very fortunate that these incredible performers including the remarkable Stephanie Arrigotti have agreed to donate their talents to help us further that cause,” said Gina Lopez Hill the Executive Director of the BAC. “I’m such a big fan of all of them, it’s a real thrill for me, personally.”
Grace Hayes will begin the evening performing some of her original music mixed with some you may recognize. Grace is fresh from her appearance on "American Idol" where she received a Golden Ticket to Hollywood week and you might have caught her TEDxCarsonCity talk in the fall of last year.
Then the extraordinary Maria Arrigotti Wehr will take the stage. Maria is familiar to Carson City audiences as has performed several leading musical theatre and opera roles for Western Nevada Musical Theater Company including Cosette in "Les Miserables" and Christine in "Phantom of the Opera" and she is flying back to Carson City especially for this event.
Barb D’Anneo will perform standards similar to those she performed as a professional singer in the big band era in San Francisco, Andie (Anderson) Wilkerson whom you have seen as Eponine in "Les Miserables" and and Babe Williams in "Pajama Game" will bring you some musical theater tunes and may even have a surprise up her sleeve and Carolyn Dolan will perform her lively jazz and blues and is one of the area’s best Harmonica Players.
The event is Saturday, April 7 doors open at 6 p.m. for silent auction, the theater opens at 6:30 p.m, and the performance begins at 7 p.m. in the Performance Hall at 511 West King Street. Tickets are available here or by calling the Brewery Arts Center at 775-883-1976.
