Among items up for discussion:
— There will be a public hearing to discuss spending up to $2.7 million to replace equipment and software needed to operation the city's enhanced 911 telephone system.
The City has determined that the bonds should be issued for the purpose of financing the cost of purchasing, upgrading, and replacing equipment and software necessary to operate the City's 911 enhanced telephone system, and the cost of improvements and equipment for the City's landfill.
— Supervisors will also discuss options it has with Empire Ranch Golf Course. The property owner has a delinquent tax bill due in the amount of $184,034.17. The golf course property is used as a city effluent wastewater treatment area. The city doesn't have other options to dump the wastewater.
A letter has been submitted to the Board of Supervisors by the Carson City Public Works Director indicating that owning this property would serve the public purpose of the Carson City Waste Water Processing Utility and requesting that Carson City acquire this property.
Finally, at 6 p.m. Supervisor Jim Shirk has requested time for discussion regarding the 1/8th cent sales tax ordinance and the proposed expenditures regarding the MAC Building, Animal Shelter, Community Center, and all Corridor projects.
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the matter Thursday, April 17, 2014, beginning immediately after the Board convenes at 8:30 a.m.
