Nevada Guard to remember 2011 IHOP shooting victims Sunday with run, memorial plaque

The Nevada Guard is set to host its ninth annual memorial run/walk on Sunday, Sept. 6, to commemorate the victims of the International House of Pancakes shooting that occurred in 2011. The run/walk will start at what used to be the Carson City IHOP, 3883 S. Carson St., at 7 a.m. Sunday.

Carson City deputies arrest suspect after allegedly using stun gun on employee, stealing air soft guns, walkie-talkies and pet food

A 24-year-old was arrested in the 3200 block of Market Street for use of a stun gun other than in self defense, a felony, as well as petit larceny and resisting a public officer.

A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Sunday night in the area of Fairview and Roop streets for three failure to appear warrants out of Carson City, a contempt of court warrant out of Reno Township, and for suspicion of reckless driving, speeding more than 35 mph over the limit and driving with a suspended license.

Vehicle accident with injury reported on Southbound I-580 near Fairview

Just before 3 p.m. Friday a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on southbound I-580 near Fairview.

Multiple first responders are enroute to the scene. Motorists should avoid the area or use caution.

A single pick-up truck has hit the middle barrier, according to dispatch.

UPDATE: First responders on scene stated there are possibly three vehicles involved.

Vehicle accident reported at Southbound I-580 and Fairview Thursday afternoon

At 2:52 p.m. a vehicle accident was reported on southbound I-580 at Fairview.

First responders are enroute to the scene.

Responders are advising the accident is on the off ramp on Fairview.

Injuries are unknown at this time.

Motorists should use caution while in the area or seek alternate routes.

Carson City fitness centers, gyms re-open with new mandated safety measurements in place

South Carson Street Project report for week of June 1-5; roundabout install begins

SNC crews are preparing the roundabout installment phase of the South Carson Street project. Stewart Street in Carson City will be closed to southbound traffic with detours at Little to Roop to Fairview, the closure will remain all week. Stewart Street will be open to northbound traffic only.

Vehicle vs motorcycle accident reported Near Woodside and Fairview

A vehicle vs motorcycle accident was reported just after 6:30 p.m. near Woodside and Fairview Friday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and walking around but was “hit pretty hard” according to those on scene.

First responders are enroute.

Carson City arrests: Man jailed for alleged meth, ecstasy possession after motorhome hits car

A 24-year-old woman was arrested May 22 for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and other alleged offenses, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

Senator Square: CHS says goodbye to yearbook adviser, astronomy students acknowledged in science journal

Patt Quinn-Davis, Carson High School Language Arts teacher and adviser of the school newspaper and Carneta yearbook, is retiring. For Quinn-Davis, the publications staff became a part of her family every year and even more so when students stayed with the program throughout their high school careers.
