This fence will help keep the wild horses in the hills and off the golf course, softball fields and out of the businesses and neighborhoods as well.

Carson City's Centennial archery facility to be named for internationally-renowned bow maker
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 08/15/2019 - 10:57amDuring Thursday’s Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting, a resolution was passed to rename the archery range at Centennial Park the “Tim Meigs Carson City Archery Range.”
Representatives of Carson City’s Clear Creek Bowmen archery club, along with the Parks and Recreation department, brought the resolution to the Board in an effort to honor Tim Meigs, a long-time Carson City citizen who was entered into the Archery Hall of Fame, and who has based his archery business out of the capital city for over sixty years.

Carson City emergency crews, Care Flight called to Highway 50 East motorcycle crash
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 07/10/2019 - 4:32pmUPDATE 5:21PM: A motorcycle rider injured in a crash late Wednesday afternoon on Highway 50 East has been flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. Their condition is unknown at this time. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The road was closed briefly to allow for the helicopter to land.

Helping with set up was John Procaccini, who produces the concert for The Greenhouse Project and helped start the blockbuster event with Charlie and Karen Abowd more than a decade ago, with its beginnings in the Cafe at Adele's parking lot.

This article from June highlights organizations that benefit from the concert fundraiser, including the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.
When families come to the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, they are typically in desperate conditions.
“We see 80 percent of our clients in the last couple of weeks of the month,” explained Joyce Buckingham, executive director. “They have reached the end of their SNAP benefits or their social security or other benefits.”

Now in its 11th year, the Concert Under the Stars begins 5:30 p.m. July 10 at the Eagle Valley Golf Course, 3999 Centennial Park Dr. in Carson City. The evening includes world-class and legendary music by Poco, Pure Prairie League and Firefall — as well as the live auction which takes place between performances.
