The Carson Senators beat the Bishop Manogue Miners 32-21 last night in front of their home crowd, and advance to the Northern 4A championship game on Saturday.
Austin Pacheco turned the game in Carson's favor after intercepting a pass from Miners quarterback T.J. Menning and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown. Dylan Sawyers rang up 144 yards rushing for the Senators.
The Senators will play the unbeaten Reed Raiders on Saturday, after they defeated the Douglas Tigers 60-36 last night in Sparks.
The winner of Saturday's game at Mackay Stadium will play for the state 4A championship on Dec. 5.

The Pinkerton Ballet Theatre will stage its 23rd annual production of “The Nutcracker Ballet” at the Carson City Community Center this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sue Morrow laments the commercialism that has "knocked the stuffing out of Thanksgiving," and Willow Bill is offering workshops at Carson Mall this weekend where people can make their own willow reindeer and take them home. The workshops are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday by appointment only. The cost is $25, and participants need to bring a drill with them.
