Carson City deputies make arrests for domestic battery, DUI and warrants
A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday, 1:10 a.m. in the 4100 block of Pheasant Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area and met with the suspect who said, among other things, her male roommate threatened her, that he was sleeping with her mother, that someone put a “hit” on her and she didn’t want to be “chipped” for tracking.
Deputies interviewed the woman and found she went off track several times in her stories and would not provide information about who was attempting to put a “hit” on her. She did not show any outward signs of injury.
Deputies spoke with the victim roommate who said the woman had been taking methadone, has not eaten or slept in three or four days and that she suffers from paranoia. He said she called him Satan and would not leave him alone, stabbing him with a set of keys.
Deputies observed scratch marks on the left side of the victim’s face near his eye and scratch marks to his right leg. He declined medical attention. She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:35 a.m. in the area of Snyder and Center streets for misdemeanor suspicion of second DUI, failure to maintain a lane and expired license plates.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a report of a suspected drunk driver. The deputy observed the driver failing to maintain its driving lane, crossing the fog line several times.
The vehicle also had expired registration. A deputy made a traffic stop and observed the man showed signs of drinking and subsequently showed signs of intoxication on his field sobriety tests. He provided a voluntary breath test of .138 and was arrested. At jail he provided breath tests of .138 and .130. Bail: $2,796.
— A 27-year-old Reno man, Bronson Furr, was arrested Thursday, 2 p.m. in the area of William and Saliman for a felony failure to appear warrant issued out of Reno Township Court and misdemeanor obstructing.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the 1400 block of Rand Avenue for a couple inside a store who were eating items and left without paying. The man was asked for his identification. He said he did not have an ID but provided a name and social security number that were false. Bail: $15,637.
— Two were arrested Thursday night in the area of Adams and Roop Street for suspicion of felony parole and probation violations.
Arrested were Isai Ramirez, 27, Jeanise Bird, 50. Bird also faces misdemeanor charges of failure to stop at a stop sign, driving without insurance, and failure to change the address on her driver’s license. Both are being held without bail in lieu of parole and probation hearings.
— A 60-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 10:12 a.m. in the 2200 block of Airport Road for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Michael Adams, was arrested Wednesday, 1:06 p.m. in the 1900 block of Marie Drive for felony parole and probation violation hold, driving on a suspended license and hit and run.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Roop and William in reference to an hit and run at the intersection. The suspect, later identified as Adams, drove away but was followed by another citizen who witnessed the accident.
The deputy made contact with Adams as he was exiting the driver’s seat of his vehicle at his residence in the 1900 block of Marie. He admitted he had rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection. He was checked through dispatch who advised his license had been suspended and he was on parole and probation. He was arrested without bail for the parole and probation violation in lieu of a hearing.
— A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 10:19 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and failure to yield for a pedestrian. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop for a pedestrian who was waiting to cross at a marked crosswalk. The deputy could smell an odor of alcohol on the driver's breath.
The man admitted to having a cocktail a few minutes prior. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs indicating possible impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .176. At jail he provided evidentiary breath samples of .129 and .131. Bail: $1,284.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was booked Wednesday, 12:35 p.m. for an misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $100.
— An 18-year-old Fairfield, Calif., man, Charles Dixon, was arrested Wednesday, 12:45 p.m. at Mills Park for a felony fugitive from justice warrant and misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. He was being held without bail awaiting extradition to California.
