Carson City Symphony's after-school string program begins Aug. 29
Carson City Symphony's comprehensive program of free string instruction begins the last week of August, after school, at three locations in Carson City.
Strings in the Schools, directed by the Symphony's Education Director, Sue Jesch, provides beginning violin lessons for students grades 2-5; a beginning cello program directed by symphony Principal Cellist Lou Groffman for selected 5th graders; and ensemble/orchestra experience for string students in all grades. Tuition and books are subsidized by the Carson City Symphony Association.
The program is for Carson City public-, private-, and home-school students, and classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Some scholarships are available for instruments. To register, and for more information, call Sue Jesch at 775-450-5584. The instructors request that students do not rent or purchase instruments until after the first class.
