Carson City sheriff’s log: Deputies make drug and multiple DUI arrests

An 18-year-old Reno woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, a felony, and misdemeanor minor consuming. An 18-year-old Dayton man was also arrested on suspicion of minor consuming.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the corner of Carson and Musser streets for a report of suspicious circumstances. An officer arrived and met with the 18-year-old woman, Samantha Maccord. She is 18 and smelled of an alcoholic beverage. She submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .03.
The deputy informed the woman she could leave in cab with a citation or go to jail. The woman told the officer she was not going to pay for a cab and had nowhere to stay for the night. She refused to call any family or friends to pick her up, the arrest report states.
She was placed into custody for minor in consumption at 4:43 a.m. During a search officers located a loose hydrocodone pill in her purse that requires a prescription. She said she did not have a prescription for it.
The woman’s 18-year-old boyfriend walked over and asked what was going on. He identified himself as her boyfriend and admitted he was drinking with her and submitted a preliminary breath test of .182, the arrest report states. He was placed into custody at 4:59 a.m. for minor consuming. Bail for Maccord, $2,742. Bail for the 18-year-old, $242.
In other arrests:
— A 19-year-old Carson City man, Blaze Christopher Thomas was arrested Thursday, 2:08 p.m. at Mills Park on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a juvenile District Court warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies also arrested a 19-year-old Carson City woman, Cherrie Rene Lawrence, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers found methamphetamine and needles inside the woman’s purse. Thomas was being held without bail on the warrant and $3,637 for the remainder of the charges. Bail for Lawrence: $3,637.
— A 41-year-old Minden man was arrested Wednesday, 9:24 p.m. in the 2800 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of DUI and fictitious registration. Bail: $1,249.
— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 2 a.m. at William and Stewart streets for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, DUI and driving on expired registration. Bail: $4,346.
— A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 12:37 a.m. in the area of William and Roop streets on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and failure to dim headlamps. Bail: $1,209.
— A 60-year-old Incline Village man was arrested Wednesday, 8:12 p.m. in the area of I-580 and the Fairview Overpass on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, speeding, (95 in a 65 mph zone) red light violation and failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Highway 50 East in reference to a possible drunk driver, who was failing to maintain a lane of traffic.
A sheriff’s office sergeant advised he had located the vehicle on I-580 south bound going 95 mph in a 65 mph zone. The sergeant advised the vehicle failed to maintain lanes of travel and failed to stop at a red light. The sergeant initiated the traffic stop and met with the driver, who had a strong odor of alcohol.
The suspect submitted to four field sobriety tests and failed three of the four. He was taken into custody. Bail: $1,663.
— A 38-year-old Tempe, Ariz., man was arrested Thursday, 4:32 a.m. for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and due care. Bail: $1,284.
— A Dayton man was booked into jail Thursday, 1:55 p.m. in the on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $1,000.
