Carson City area road report for week of July 11-17
Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of July 11–17, 2016. Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. The following streets will be impacted:
— Carson Street will remain one lane in each direction.
— On Monday, July 11, Curry will be closed between 4th and 2nd Streets.
— On Thursday, July 14, Musser will be closed on the west side to Curry.
— Caroline will be closed to the east to Plaza all week.
— Proctor, Telegraph and Spear will be closed to the west to Curry all week.
Downtown and Third Street businesses are open during construction. For details regarding traffic impacts, please refer to the material provided in local media outlets or go to carsonproud.com for more information. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.
Lane closures with traffic controls are at the following locations due to utility/road work:
— Southbound traffic on S. Carson Street between Tenth and Stewart Streets will be shifted, Monday-Friday, for all hours
— Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— Oak Ridge and Desert Peach Drives, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— N. Ormsby Blvd. between Winnie Lane and College Parkway, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Please follow detours:
— Fairview Drive between Butti Way and Fifth Street, Saturday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
— Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395, Monday-Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Race Track Road and Bigelow Drive south of Snyder Avenue, Monday-Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Jeanell Drive between Russett Way and Michael Drive, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Anderson Street between Robinson and Caroline Streets, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial, Monday-Sunday, for all hours, parking is available to the south
Work in the parking lane will occur on W. King Street between Curry and Nevada Streets, Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Northbound U.S. 395 between Clear Creek Avenue and Snyder Avenue will be reduced from three to two lanes until July 29.
Intermittent lane and ramp closures will continue through fall on I-580 and Alternate U.S. 395 in Washoe Valley and north Carson City as the Nevada Department of Transportation repaves and makes other roadway improvements.
The following road report for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra is from Caltrans for July 10-16, 2016:
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway.
State Route 89 (Placer County) from Sugar Pine Road to Ward Creek and from Pine Avenue to Cathedral Drive: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for roadway excavation and drainage work.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to just north of the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in summer 2017.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Vikingsholm Vista Point: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 2 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for drainage work, shoulder excavation and guardrail installation.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 10th Street to 13th Street and 13th Street to West Way: Northbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday south of 13th Street and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday north of 13th Street for curb, gutter and sidewalk work. The southbound No. 2 lane is permanently closed from West Way to 13th Street also for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Beach Avenue to Deer Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday for utility work. Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect shoulder closures from Fox Street to Beaver Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday for utility work.
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Burton Creek Drive to Villas Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday for grinding and paving work.
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Estates Drive to Agatam Avenue West in Tahoe Vista: Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for utility work.
State Route 49 (El Dorado County) at Coloma Street in Placerville: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Riverwood Drive South to Riverwood Drive North: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Latrobe Road/El Dorado Hills Boulevard to Bass Lake Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the slow lanes closed from 8 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for shoulder rumble strip installation.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Cameron Park Drive: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bedford Avenue to Canal Street: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday for highway construction work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Truckee Drive to River Drive and from Trout Creek to Tulare Avenue in South Lake Tahoe: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect lane restrictions around the clock 9 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Friday for gas line relocation work.
State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect long-term signalized one-way traffic control for emergency repair work, which is scheduled to be completed in late July.
State Route 267 (Placer County) from Northstar Drive to Brockway Summit: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
