MINDEN — The Douglas County Roads Department installed six new road signs last week that will be activated with a radar detection system once some final preparation is done in the coming days. CARSON CITY — With well over half of a million rides provided each year by Nevada’s rural transit operators, the Nevada Department of Transportation is inviting public input on an update to its State Management Plan which defines how federal transit funding is administered. This funding represents the majority of the budget transit operators use to provide much-needed transit services to rural areas of the state.

The community is invited to celebrate the expansion of the Carson Street improvements at the South Carson Complete Streets Project groundbreaking ceremony. CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation and Nevada Highway Patrol are reminding drivers that roadside parking restrictions will continue to be strictly enforced on State Route 28 south of Incline Village when the Tahoe East Shore Trail opens on Friday, June 28, including new no parking areas in southern Incline Village.

Overnight road closures will take place on State Route 28 south of Incline Village June 17 and 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation places final roadway striping as part of installation of the State Route 28 shared used path.

Both directions of SR 28 will be closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village and the U.S. 50 junction from 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m. nightly June 17 and 18 as final roadway striping is placed on the highway.

CARSON CITY — Final construction of State Route 28 shared use path, water quality and traffic safety improvements will begin April 22 with single lane closures and short-term full road closures south of Incline Village at Lake Tahoe. Project completion is anticipated for early July and will be announced prior to opening.
