NDOT to distribute nearly $22 million in CARES Act money to support rural transit services

CARSON CITY — Nevada has received nearly $22 million in rural transit relief funding following Congress’ passage of the CARES Act. This is in addition to transit funding dedicated to the state’s metropolitan transit services.
The Federal Transit Administration recently announced appropriations of $25 billion in national transit relief funding.

Douglas County Road Department installs new road signs on Waterloo, Mottsville lanes

MINDEN — The Douglas County Roads Department installed six new road signs last week that will be activated with a radar detection system once some final preparation is done in the coming days. The new signs will provide drivers a higher level of visual guidance when approaching the curves and improves safety for all drivers.

NDOT seeks public input on update to rural transit services management plan

CARSON CITY — With well over half of a million rides provided each year by Nevada’s rural transit operators, the Nevada Department of Transportation is inviting public input on an update to its State Management Plan which defines how federal transit funding is administered. Overnight road closures will take place on State Route 28 south of Incline Village June 17 and 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation places final roadway striping as part of installation of the State Route 28 shared used path.

Both directions of SR 28 will be closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village and the U.S. 50 junction from 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m. nightly June 17 and 18 as final roadway striping is placed on the highway.
