Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly attempting to hit women with vehicle

A 59-year-old man was arrested on two counts suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following an incident that happened at a North Carson Street motel, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Conway Boston Jr., listed as a transient, faces two charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He was arrested at 10:56 p.m. in a casino parking lot.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the motel in the 1400 block of North Carson Street regarding an alleged assault with a vehicle. Dispatch advised the suspect had previously been out to the same location earlier in the day for a possible trespassing issue, as he was evicted from the room and had returned.

Dispatch advised the man was driving a Jeep and left. Deputies attempted to look for the man. Another deputy met with a reporting party, a witness and two victims who stated the man, Boston Jr., had attempted to hit the victims with his vehicle, the arrest report states.

They said the man had drove his vehicle into the parking lot at a high rate of speed and were adamant the man was attempting to hit them with his vehicle. They said they had to move out of the way to avoid being hit. A woman stated she observed the situation and confirmed the man was attempting to hit the two women with his vehicle, the arrest report states. All subjects stated they were familiar with the man.

The reporting party showed video surveillance of the incident. In the video, the suspect's vehicle is seen coming into the southeast side of the parking lot and then the vehicle accelerates rapidly. The two women are seen walking toward the south side of the parking lot and the man's vehicle accelerates toward them, in which they quicken their pace to move out of the way of the vehicle, the arrest report states.

The suspect then stops next to them for a short period before driving off. The man yelled obscenities and made threats at them before driving off, the report states.

A deputy located the vehicle in the parking lot of a casino in the 500 block of North Carson Street and found the suspect in the parking area. The man was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He said that people at the motel had scratched his vehicle but denied he attempted to hit the two women.

Instead he stated he rolled down his window, confronted the women about scratching his vehicle and left. He said he didn't know for sure the women had scratched his vehicle. He was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

During jail transport he called the deputy a "cracker" and a "redneck" and said he was only going to jail because cops are racist. Also, he yelled that he would have killed them if he had known this was going happen, the arrest report states. Bail: $40,000.

— A 31-year-old Wellington man, Kevin Gene Neugebauer, was arrested Monday in the 2700 block of Highway 50 East for two counts possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a convenience store in reference to a suspicious subject. Deputies made contact with Neugebauer, who was asked to exit the vehicle.

An exterior sniff of the man's vehicle was made with a K9, which alerted positive. Deputies asked if there were any illegal drugs inside the vehicle. The man stated no. The man consented to a search of his person. As the deputy began to perform the search, the man informed him there was a capped hypodermic needle in his left pocket.

Deputies located a brown bag containing a used hypodermic needle, a clear baggy with with a brown powder substance and a clear baggie containing a white powdery subject. The drugs were believed to be heroin and methamphetamine. The man was placed under arrest and read his Miranda warning. He agreed and stated heroin was in one of the baggies and said that he had used about an hour prior. Bail: $6,137.

— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 8:37 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued March 15, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,095.

— A 46-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 8:39 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued November 20, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.

— A 28-year-old man, Adrian Gilbert Hernandez, was arrested Monday, 11:35 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Carson Street for a felony parole and probation violation and misdemeanor battery.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatch to a medical facility in the 1200 block of South Stewart Street regarding a subject who allegedly punched a patient inside the waiting room.

The man left the scene where deputies located him walking past 1100 South Carson Street. A deputy recognized Hernandez and knew he had an active priority 5 parole and probation warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and subsequently also arrested for suspicion of battery, the arrest report states.

Deputies met with the victim who stated he was waiting in the lobby to receive treatment when Hernandez and a woman began to have a loud argument. The victim looked up and said Hernandez then punched him on the left side of his face. The victim had a red mark on his left jaw resulting from the injury. Hernandez is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing for parole and probation violation.

— A 63-year-old Reno man, Robert James Bohac, was arrested Monday, 2:50 p.m. in the 600 block of East William Street for a felony parole and probation violation.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the Bank of America regarding a man who had made threats in the past. Dispatch advised the male subject had made previous threats that he wanted his money and he would obtain it one way or another. While en route, dispatch advised the man was on parole and probation.

Deputies met with the man. While speaking with officers, a deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He stated he was at the bank to close his account and wanted his money out. He provided a preliminary breath test of .154. A parole officer requested the man be arrested for parole and probation violation as there was a "no alcohol" clause as a condition.

Deputies spoke with the bank manager and learned the man has been trespassed from the property previously and he commonly carries guns inside the bank, which makes tellers nervous because of his behavior. When the man walked into the bank, dispatch was contacted.

The manager did not wish to pursue trespassing charges due to the fact they did not ask him to leave this time and asked deputies to give the man a verbal warning.

The manager handed a deputy a check for $40,978.69, the remaining money that belonged to the man, which the account was then closed, the arrest report states. Deputies placed the check with the man's belongings which were booked into evidence for safe keeping.

A deputy informed the man he would get the money once he gets released from jail. The man said he understood. The officer gave the man a verbal trespass warning and he stated he understood. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing for the parole and probation violation.
