Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man busted for meth, heroin possession

A 25 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday night at 8:56 p.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive for felony possession of multiple controlled substances, including methamphetamine and heroin, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

Shylo Watson was taken into custody in the parking lot of an apartment complex known to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team and Tri-Net Narcotics Units as a high drug-crime area, the arrest report said.

The arresting deputy observed the suspect in the driver's seat of a pickup truck and recognized him from previous law enforcement contacts, the report said.

Upon being approached and questioned by the deputy, Watson admitted to having drank alcohol at a bar earlier in the day and did not want to drive home, the report said.

According to the arrest report, Watson told the deputy that he did not live at the apartment complex and had dropped off a friend.

A records check through dispatch showed Watson was active in the Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with no drugs or alcohol clauses, the arrest report said.

Watson was further questioned about whether or not he had any drugs on him or in his vehicle. He denied any drugs and allowed law enforcement to perform a search.

A small plastic baggie containing a white crystallized substance, a small brown pea-sized rock, a glass pipe with burnt bulb, and a rubber container with a gooey brown wax having a strong odor of marijuana were found, the report said. White residue was also found on the paraphernalia.

The discovered substances tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and heroin, respectively, the report said.

Watson admitted to using methamphetamine, then was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Carson City Jail where he was booked. DAS added three counts of probation violation to Watson's arrest and one count of violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
